Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2013:

I had a completely different experiance with these skis than the other users. While it did provided great float in powder and through crude, I thought the magne-traction was everything it was cracked up to be on ice and hardpack. I had as much control on with these as I did with my Nordica Hot Rods. They held a great edge and were more stable and lively than I expected. They are a ski that performs great allover the mountain.

      Meh

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2013:

While mag-tech may be hailed for increasing edge grip and performance on snowboards I don't think it translates to a ski. I went into skiing these thinking they would feel very hooky and grabby, but it was quite the opposite. I felt I had less grip than a ski with traditional sidecut to it. The ski wanted to slide around rather than carve a true arc. The flex also seemed somewhat dead and didn't feel very lively. Overall they skied decently in crud, but I was left feeling pretty uninspired by the skis.

Not sold on Magne-Traction on Skis

      By Webby

      from Alpental, WA

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2013:

To be quite honest, I'm still not sold on Lib Tech's famed magne-traction on skis. On a snowboard, it seems to improve traction, but on skis I felt as if it had the opposite effect. While taking turns on groomers, they seemed awfully choppy, especially with any speed. I found myself having to concentrate more on my turns than on other skis of the day that just seemed so effortless. The Freerides just weren't as confidence inspiring as I would have liked. It could simply be that I just need more experience getting used to the magne-traction, as they do feel quite different. I would highly recommend demoing a pair before buying.

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2013:

First day out, wasn't sure I liked these skis very much at all. The magnetraction grips like crazy and I couldn't seemed to get comfortable. Second day out, about half way through the day i started to figure it out better. The third day was like a light bulb turning on. Just took a little getting used to. So far I've had about 8 or 9 days on these and love them and the magnetraction so much now, I'm considering selling my fatties and picking up a pair of the POWS for deep days.
