K2 MissBehaved Skis - Women's 2013

Striking the perfect balance between a charging powder ski and an all-mountain destroyer, the K2 MissBehaved rocks the spot thanks to its versatile waist width and All-Terrain Rocker™. Whether you like to find first-chair freshies, crank through crud, or even harvest spring sidecountry corn, the K2 MissBehaved Skis will behave themselves properly in any terrain on the mountain.
Shape
All-Terrain Rocker™ - Designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edgehold in firmer conditions.

Bi-Directional Taper - The tip is wider but closer in width to the tail. This lets the ski perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction, but the taper enables the skier to have similar switch arcs for better and more consistent switch riding.
Powder Tip - Pulls the widest point of the tip further down the ski, which retains float in soft snow, and also minimizes deflection in adverse snow conditions.

Flex
BioFlex 3 Core - A combination of 80% dense Aspen core underfoot is fused with 20% lightweight Paulownia at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight with blended Bamboo throughout for strength and durability.

Triaxial Braiding - Consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control, making the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.

TwinTech Construction - Increases the durability of K2 sidewall skis by rolling the top material into the sidewall, reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Additional Features
Tip/Tail Hardware - Rivets originally designed for durability now have the additional option of attaching K2 Trim To Fit Skins for climbing.
3.5mm Edges are thicker and far more resistant to cracking.
Swap Base - Ski bases are made with inverse colors so that less material is wasted
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Powder
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.

More of a Hybrid Ski

By Jennifer

from Stevens Pass

Comments about K2 MissBehaved Skis - Women's 2013:

Not a lot of sidecut, pretty stiff. seems like it was meant to be a versatile ski rather than a pow specific ski. Tails got hooked up a bit but that could be because of hhow deep and wet the snow was. Might like it mounted a bit further back for float. It didn't like to turn, had to lean quite a was back in the pow. Again, could have been the conditions.

A Little Bit of Everything

Comments about K2 MissBehaved Skis - Women's 2013:

I usually ride older Missdemeanors. The tip/tail rocker and width of the Missbehaved definitely makes the powder more manageable. But it compromises control on groomers for this extra bit of float. Personally I prefer all pow ski or all groomer ski.

Comments about K2 MissBehaved Skis - Women's 2013:

I'm a beginner, this was only my second year skiing, so I would take my advice with a large heap of salt. I only rode on groomers and felt that the MissBehaved's performed average. I was a little disappointed in their carving ability...but maybe that was more of an user error than anything. None of the days that I went up were powder days, so I don't feel like I can speak to their 'floatiness.' Overall, it was a fine pair of skis and I think someone a little more advanced than me would be better at handling and appreciating them. But! You have to push yourself and get on a little better gear so that you can advance quicker.

    K2 MissBehaved

    Comments about K2 MissBehaved Skis - Women's 2013:

I really loved the MissBehaved. I think the 102mm waist width is a great place to start for someone who is used to a very traditional ski but is looking for something slightly wider, for more stability and performance in un-groomed territory. The slight rocker in the tip and tail allows for a surprising amount of playful float. The ski is somewhat stiff for a women's ski, providing a stable, consistent turn on the groomers, without feeling too hooky. Great for a woman who is an advanced skier (or a woman looking to get there) that needs an everyday ski.
