K2 Iron Maiden Skis 2013

The iconic “rockers” of K2 and Iron Maiden will slay both snow and metal again this winter with the release of the new K2 Iron Maiden Skis. Inspired by the Troopers single album art, this ski is built on the proven Recoil chassis to triumph over the entire mountain or harsh urban features when not spinning park laps. The unmatched durability of ABSorb sidewalls will take all the thrashing you can give, whether on hard-hitting landings in the park or spine-crunching bomb drops in the city.
Shape
All-Terrain Rocker™ - Designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edgehold in firmer conditions.

Bi-Directional Taper - The tip is wider but closer in width to the tail. This lets the ski perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction, but the taper enables the skier to have similar switch arcs for better and more consistent switch riding.
Construction
Fir/Aspen core - Solid and dense woods known for their inherent strength and durability.
Triaxial Braiding - Consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control, making the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.

TwinTech Construction - Increases the durability of K2 sidewall skis by rolling the top material into the sidewall, reducing the angle that is prone to abuse, severely reducing ski to ski impact damage.

**Please note that base colors will alternate and may not arrive exactly as pictured.
Additional Features
ABSorb Sidewall Construction - Sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize the dampening but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control.

Tip/Tail Hardware - Rivets for durability
3.5mm Edges are thicker and far more resistant to cracking.
Swap Base - Ski bases are made with inverse colors so that less material is wasted
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about K2 Iron Maiden Skis 2013:

I give this ski 5 stars because it's the perfect tool (for what it does). This ski has a medium flex (not too overwhelming to ride) and a great shape that makes turning SUPER FUN. It's responsive and playful especially on the groomers where I felt like I had to just keep turning and turning. I was actually laughing out loud they were so much fun. It's probably not the best backcountry or even side country ski but for your strong intermediate skier who is mostly skiing under the lift, the Recoil is the perfect tool for the job.
