K2 HellBent Skis 2012: Welcome to the playground - the devil’s playground. Once you have stepped foot into this realm you will never look at the mountain in the same way again; in fact once you have skied the K2 HellBent Skis, you will never look at mid-fat skis again, period. This freakishly fat beast can stomp landings both ways into the most bottomless of pits, while Powder Rocker™ will pop you back up before Satan can reach up and get his hands on your skis. Even with a 132mm waist, the K2 HellBent Skis can rampage through all types of snow with a sharp turning radius and slight camber underfoot. O yeah, and that graphic will make you squeal like a pig!
Shape
Powder Rocker™ is designed primarily for deep snow. This large amount of rocker provides additional lift for enhanced soft snow performance in the tip and a surfy feel. A reduced camber region is still present underfoot for a confident edge hold in firmer conditions.
Directional Taper Sidecut maximizes the performance of the ski in the forward direction. The ski makes a slightly different arc when skiing switch.
Construction
TwinTech Construction increases the durability of the sidewalls. Unlike a traditional sidewall, this construction rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.
Tip/Tail Hardware - removable plugs reveal holes that can be used to attach K2 Pre-Cut Skins
Powder Tip tapers early to avoid hooking.
3.5mm steel edges are durable and far more resistant to cracking.
Flex
Fir and Aspen core: solid and dense woods known for their inherent strength and durability.
Triaxial Braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. This makes the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.
Dimensions
22m @ 179cm 160/132/151 (all sizes)
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15mm wider.

HellBents 2012

By Rustin

from Stevens Pass

Comments about K2 HellBent Skis 2012:

Awesome ski. Very surfy even in a little bit of new snow, even heavy snow. Holds well on hardpack but definitely not ideal. Great powder ski. Once you get used to the softness they are very playful. If you're over 6' go with the 189's they ski very short.

Comments about K2 HellBent Skis 2012:

I use this ski close to 100 days a year. It is my tool of choice for all conditions. It obviously excels in deep powder, but it actually turns chopped powder and variable conditions into a smooth ride. They also carve surprisingly well on groomers and packed powder, they truly carve hard on all snowpacks.
One of my favorite things about the Hellbent is the large rocker pattern and the playful, soft flex. This allows for a buttery feel when desired, but the solid stiffness underfoot keeps them stable and easy to control.
If you are a "freestyler" and like to land/ski switch in powder and do butters, this is THE BEST ski out there. I wouldn't hit a powder jump or cliff drop on anything else.

          HellBent on Fun!

          By Nefarious

          from Stevens Pass

Comments about K2 HellBent Skis 2012:

These skis are the most fun tool you can have in soft snow, and the deeper the powder the better! Super playful and "surfy" yet stable enough to stomp big airs and carve hard in any condition, If you like butters and skiing switch, there really is no better powder ski.
