Shape
All-Terrain Rocker™ is designed for all ability levels with added versatility and ease in all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance with camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Progressive Sidecut is a combination of two different radii that enhances the versatility of wider-waist skis. This guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
Construction
Mod Technology is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.
Mod Monic is a focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.
Hybritech Sidewalls are a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions that combine the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Dimensions

Bindings
The K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis come with the Marker MX 12.0 Bindings. This high end binding integrates with the MX Plate through Titanal hubs that are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.
Core and Flex Pattern
Aspen and Paulownia core: Aspen is solid and dense; Paulownia is an eco-friendly, fast-growing renewable wood that is incredibly strong and lightweight.
Metal Laminate consists of 2 sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski. Alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal sandwich the wood core to provide dampened, accurate, and unshakable performance.

Only had a few days on these skis before the end of the season but they rode smooth and are great turners, very smooth and good edging in carving.

I just bought these skiis at end of the season, first pair i have owned in 15 yrs, even though i am skiing for 40 yrs now. I was nervous but took them on my late spring annual trip to Alta/Snowbird & they were great. They handles 8" of fresh powder, crud, groomers at top speed. The only tough point was some ice on top, but they are an all mountain ski, not a strict front side ski. Overall i am really happy & i can see why they are truly an all mountain ski.

Great ski and binding combination. Skis perform well on wide carving turns, a well as short radius turns. Skis are responsive and easy to"pop"in the bumps!

              Comments about K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis + Marker MX 12.0 Bindings 2012:

I wanted a carving ski for the groomed runs and this ski does that very well. It holds an edge and is very smooth. It doesn't have a lot of "pop" out of the turn like some other carving skis. The trade off for that, however, is much greater versatility. This ski handles crud and powder (skied up to 8 inches of new snow) very well. I have found that the carving skis that do have a lot of "pop" coming out of the turn are not as versatile and did not handle the crud and powder anywhere near as well as the Rictor. I am very please with this ski. I got a very good groomer ski, but with more versatility than I expected.

I live in Utah and have been skiing on slalom racers for over 20 yrs. I've been on the skinny K2 Mach Slalom for the past 9 yrs. The fat K2 Rictor is my first all mountain ski. I just purchased them at the end of the season, so only had one day on the slopes for testing. They make fast slalom turns on the groomed, but not quite as fast as my racers. They hold very well. On fresh powder they float better than the racers, but turn about the same. They push right through the crud, but are clumsy in moguls. All my past skis required a learning curve, and these will too, so one day isn't a fair assessment.
