Do you need a pick me up to your quiver in the powder and freeride department? Look no further than the Faction Supertonic Skis to fill the void. At 107 mm underfoot, the Supertonic excels in every snow condition except perhaps a slalom course or the deepest days of the year. Designed as a powder and big mountain charger, the Supertonic uses STP Technology's wavy construction for increased torsional stiffness, all while being a touch more forgiving because those same waves reduce core thickness. Micro-camber underfoot, and a directionally rockered shape mean that although the Supertonic is downright bubbly in the powder, it holds its own on hardpack and chunder as well.
Tip & Tail Rocker – Tip & Tail Rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.
L Tip Rocker – 10 mm of Rocker over 200 mm of length.
M Tail Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over 150 mm of length.
1 mm Camber – Positive turn initiation on-piste, quick edge-response off-piste.
Medium-Stiff Flex – Stable, solid ride at speed. Less forgiving than a softer ski.
Full Length Sidecut – Classic, smooth sidecut for full contact when edging in all conditions.
Freeride Twin – Ideal for Freeride, Backcountry Freestyle and Big Mountain riding
Poplar / Ash Core – Faction's standard core material. Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
STP Technology – A patent-pending process used to press a small wave into the length of the ski. This creates a 'pre-stressed' core with increased torsional strength, letting Faction use less wood to create lighter, more forgiving skis with above-average edge-grip. For 14/15, Faction developed a variation of the technique that provides a perfectly flat base.
Gloss Lacquered ICP2112 Topsheet – Used on most Faction skis, gloss lacquered ICP2112 topsheets are colourfast and look great. The lacquer is applied to the ski after pressing.
Fibreglass – Laminates like fibreglass are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Printed Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
Digital Printing – Used on Faction's core and women's models, digital printing provides greater flexibility for designing complex graphics and requires no setup process, however the colors are not as bright or strong as the silkscreen method.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
