Dynafit Stoke Freeride Alpine Touring Skis 2012: Wanna skin 2 million vertical feet this season? This is your ski. The Dynafit Stoke Freeride Alpine Touring Skis were developed with Canadian professional ski mountaineer Greg Hill from (Revel)stoke, BC, specifically for just such exploits. Thanks to the combination of flexible Semi-Rocker shovel and sidewall construction, the Stoke is great for both powder snow and more challenging terrain. This ski is extraordinarily lightweight and unbelievably smooth on every turn, thanks to the revolutionary technology used to build the core with bamboo and beech. The Stoke will win over ski mountaineers who enjoy tackling untracked descents.
Shape
SkiTouring-specific rockered tip construction with different characteristics specific to each ski length
Dual Radius Sidecut combines a wide turn shape in the tip for stability at high speed with a sharp turn shape in the tail for quick, on-command turns.
Construction
Biaxial prepreg in lower and upper layer with fiberglass d carbon reinforcement
Sintered graphite coatings in base – more resistant, with improved gliding characteristics and better wax absorption
To ensure perfect ski-skin integration, a new top-quality metal tip has been integrated into the ski and a new attachment has been developed for the tail.
The Stoke is fitted with the patented Dynafit Insert system.
Flex
Isocore Paulownia ultra-light wood with stringers in Beech and Bamboo

Dynafit Stoke Review

Comments about Dynafit Stoke Freeride Alpine Touring Skis 2012:

Dynafit has done a great job with creating efficient "tools" for accessing the BC, the Stoke is a perfect example. Its waist is a good balance vs. weight. The flex is a little more traditional than I prefer with a smaller sweet spot than I am used to but I can see how it pertains to the target customer and their needs. I thought it was ideal for someone looking to get out beyond just the sidecountry with a lightweight deep snow ski. It felt like it preferred to be skied relatively relaxed, centered on the ski and not too aggressively.
