The Dynafit team went deep into the heart of the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca and came back with a strange creature indeed. This beast combines the width of a full-on powder ski with unheard of light weight. They call it the Dynafit Huascaran Ski, and you can buy it now. Dynafit's new Scoop Rocker and subtle tail rocker lets you float over any kind of 3D snow and butter your turns to your heart's content, while the wide ski specific triple radius sidecut offers security on ice and steeps. A sharply tapered Pintail lets the tip float just a bit higher in powder and facilitates getting the tails of the ski into carry mode.
Rocker Type
Scoop Rocker - Sometimes referred to as the "backcountry bend," this smooth and consistently increasing tip rocker floats like crazy without giving up any more edgehold than necessary. Dimensions are specific to each ski length.

Tail Rocker - A short but smoothly increasing tail rocker provides easy speed control and turn radius options.

Sidecut
Triple-radius Sidecuts - 35/20/30 m (all lengths), with the shortest radius underfoot where the ski is stiffest to provide dependable edge hold on steeps and ice

Shape
Pintail - A tapered ski tail makes slotting skis into backpack carry loops easier and lets the tips float a bit higher in deep snow.

Core
Isocore Paulownia Ultralight Core - Beech and bamboo stringers added for strength, liveliness and rigidity

Laminates
Core Coating - Quadraxial-Biaxial pre-preg guarantees maximal torsional stiffness and integrity of construction.
Sidewalls
Micro Sidewall - Sidewalls are laid up in deeper horizontal layers but use less material, making them 1.5 times stronger and more impact-resistant than conventional sidewalls while still saving weight.

Base
Sintered Graphite Base - Dynafit selects the hardest running surfaces available, while still offering optimal glide and wax penetration.
Graphics
Lord of the Cordillera Blanca - Inca-inspired Snow Leopard-Fish graphics will keep you guessing all season.
Additional Features
Skin Attachment - Patented SpeedSkin attachment is built into the ski - it's light, secure, and easy to deskin without removing your skis.
Binding Compatibility
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Alpine Touring, Powder
    Alpine Touring
Also known as backcountry skis, alpine touring (AT) skis are designed for going uphill as well as downhill. These skis are typically light for their width and many feature fittings that accept climbing skins. AT skis vary in width and weight, with the wider heavier versions usually used for winter/deep snow touring and the skinnier, lighter skis usually used for spring/summer/long distance touring.
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Medium
    Medium
17-22 m radius is best for all-mountain and park & pipe.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
