Why so much camber?

I got these as a 100% touring setup, mounted with Fritschi Freerides. They have a HUGE (~1") amount of camber - not sure why BD decided to make a mid-fat to low-end fat ski with so much camber. They definitely should be flat or even rockered. That said, they still ski the pow pretty well. They are super light, easy to tour, quick edge to edge for being as fat as they are.
