Atomic Savage Ti Skis + XTO 14 Bindings 2012: The Atomic Savage Ti Skis are back for another year of all-mountain dominance. With a 93mm waist, the Savage Ti is wide enough to float in all but the deepest snow and still narrow and nimble enough to rail carves on hardpack and dodge gapers. A layer of titanium makes the Savage Ti lightweight with great edge hold. Step Down Sidewall construction allows the Savage Ti to be slightly forgiving and an Adaptive Rocker shape lets it slash soft snow and hookup instantly on hardpack. Like a well-trained dog, the Savage Ti is ready to be your best friend.
Shape
Adaptive Rocker shape allows for easy, forgiving turn initiation and predictable all mountain handling when weighted and when edged up the Savage Ti delivers full contact length. Camber underfoot provides stability and snap.
Construction
Step Down Sidewall construction helps manage the power of the Savage Ti, allowing the tip and tail to be slightly forgiving without giving up stability or edge hold.

Savage!

Skied mostly hardpack, groomed & some crud. Excellent strong GS carve at high speed. Nice release on the tail & energetic transition to the next turn. Very strong and calm in the crud. Can do a tight radius turn on steep crud if you engage the edge. If this works well in powder it's an excellent ski-everywhere ski.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Atomic Savage Ti Skis + XTO 14 Bindings 2012:

I confess I have had limited chance to use these in varied terrain/conditions, yet. Bought them in 186cm and they are big, and heavy, but not sluggish. With direction from a good skier these boards are capable of some quick short radius turns, just not ideal for a full day of Eastern (small)bumps. On GS radius turns they may as well be on rails.

These are my first pair of rockered skis. I think they load differently VS tradiitonal cambered skis. Still getting aquainted, but these skis seem to require a greater conscious effort to engage/maintain the leading edge on hard surfaces. The wide profile and waist provide great mechanical leverage to the inside edge. Crank them a little agressively on hard-pack or ice and you can make them chatter.

The Savage Ti's are not for the feint of heart. These are like the high end SUV, not a sports car, but not a truck either. You can drive them to the office, but they are built to handle being off road and I'm sure that's where they will shine.
