Atomic Coax Skis 2012: Powerful and flexible, the Atomic Coax Skis have a 105mm waist and are built for everyday off-piste performance but they are also super quick edge to edge for unexpected hard pack ripping. A full wood core keeps the Atomic Coax Skis light and nimble, while the sidewall underfoot provide unfailing edge hold and pop at the end of a turn. An Adaptive Rocker shape lets you initiate a turn so instant it seems like the Coax has ESP. If you’re looking for a ski that can do anything and everything, the Atomic Coax can handle it all.
Shape
Adaptive Rocker shape, slightly raised at the tips, makes crud and soft snow obey with traditional camber providing power and snap.
Construction
Sidewall construction ensures maximum torsional rigidity, uncanny edge grip and controlled tip-to-tail flex
Half cap construction in the tip and tail reduces swing weight and chipping when skis bang together
Flex
Wood core provides smooth handling at high speeds and in deep powder snow

Comments about Atomic Coax Skis 2012:

Tried these skis for five days. Very difficult to turn in, left ski performs differently than right ski. Feels like I'm dragging a concrete block.

It is lighter than my atomic carvers, and 95 percent as agile on the groomers even in icy or slushy conditions. I got the 174cm long, 105mm under foot. floated effortlessly in the snow around that was deeper than 4 inches. have nor got to try it in real pow yet. It is very stable at speed.

A true one ski quiver for the powder oriented all-mountain skier, Stable at speed with a wide range of turn shapes. Provides confidence in the crud with unwavering precision. Just enough rocker for plenty of float on the deep days.

Super versatile all-mountain sidecut. Perfect dimensions, good grip on hardpack. Width allows for float in the soft snow and crud.

              Fun and Versatile

Comments about Atomic Coax Skis 2012:

Balanced flex pattern with a huge sweet spot. At 105mm underfoot it's a true all mountain ski. The 22m radius turn allows for a wide open GS turn but it is right at home in short swing turns and steeps. Very playful and predictable and does not flinch at speed. A park performer as well.

Comments about Atomic Coax Skis 2012:

Nice compromise ski. Carves well, easy to turn. Kind of light, but probably a lot of fun in powder. A little nervous on hardpack at speed. Holds well but shovel chatter from the rocker is weird.

Comments about Atomic Coax Skis 2012:

Not bad as a tele ski. I have the 192, which are in the 181 range from contact to contact - the 192 is tip-to-tip along the ski. They are great for what you'd expect them to be great for - deep, chunks, crud. They smooth out crud and tracked snow like it's not there. The down side is that you've go to work them to get edge-to-edge fast, and on a jump-turn you can definitely feel the swing weight. I went long - maybe go a bit shorter to solve that, although you might sacrifice the deep performance. But all in all a much better all-arounder than I expected for a ski this size mounted as a tele ski. I think the adaptive camber does it's job on harder stuff, and they do fine on firm runs and a bit of scrape and are stable at high speed on runs. But you really want to hunt down the deep and crud to get that smile on your face....
