Atomic Atlas Skis 2013: Surfs up, and it’s deep in the backcountry. The Atomic Atlas Skis were made for the deepest of the deep, the fluffiest of the fluff, and the softest of the soft, but also transition well when the going gets tough and the snow gets hard. With the Lite Wood Core, this big boy is plenty capable of ascending. Get ready to enjoy smooth turn after smooth turn in deep powder on the Atomic Atlas Skis; just like surfing down a mountain.
Shape
Powder Rocker: for freeskiers who want perfect lift in powder while still desiring stability on hard snow
Flotation with 30% tip rocker / 70% camber
Construction
Lite Wood Core: an ultra-lightweight wood core reduces overall weight.
The sidewall construction provides optimum cushioning and edge grip
Titanium Mega Grip delivers maximum edge grip thanks to high torsional rigidity below the binding and scores top marks in pullout tests.
Dimensions
22m @ 182cm 140/115/122, 28m @ 192cm 150/125/132

Step Down Sidewall: the extremely durable sidewall construction below the binding improves damping, shock absorption, and therefore edge grip. Half-cap construction at the tip and tail protects the ski from mechanical damage.

A Global Powder Chaser

Comments about Atomic Atlas Skis 2013:

The Atlas is a solid traditional skiing ski for those looking for maximum float and a powerful ski that you may have come to appreciate from running gates in college. The long rockered tip keeps the ski a float so you can really be forward and strong on this ski. If you have grown up putting pressure on the front of your boot and prefer a stiff responsive ski boot the Atomic Atlas would be a ski to add to your quiver. Atomic also scales down the waist between the sizes so the 182cm ski is more forgiving the smaller statured or less experienced skier.

Comments about Atomic Atlas Skis 2013:

The 192 Atlas charges. It floats great and it can turn surprisingly well in tight spaces given it's length. It also holds an edge well and is stable @ high speed despite the softer tip. However... it requires a skier who stays out of the backseat.

Powder Blaster

Comments about Atomic Atlas Skis 2013:

This ski was a blast in powder once I learned how to ride it. This big ski takes a little time to get used to but once I got used to it, it was like driving a tank ( I felt like I could blast through anything).

If you are usually the first guy to the bottom on a powder day, you should definitely give these a go.. Cut-up pow destroyers!

Stable Hard Charger

Comments about Atomic Atlas Skis 2013:

Loved this ski in the 186 length with the 115mm waist, especially coming from a race background. Super stable on any snow surface, including icy bumps. Requires some effort to turn, especially in tight quarters but is very rewarding. Point this down the fall line and hang on.
