Atomic Access Skis 2012: So you’ve been working on your game and now you’re looking to take your skiing away from the hard stuff and into the deep? The Atomic Access Skis are perfect for powder, ice and everything in between. With a 100mm waist width the Atomic Access Skis effortlessly maneuver in any situation. The Power Rocker 10 at the tip allows you to float like the wider skis, while Step Down Sidewall construction ensures reliable stability even on harder snow because although powder is fun, you have to get back to the lift sometime.
Shape
Power Rocker with a generous amount of reverse camber in the tip maximizes float without sacrificing powerful turning ability.
Traditional camber underfoot through the tail provides added edge hold on hardpack. Slight early taper with early contact points in the tip and tail allows for easy turning and less catchy edges.
Construction
Step Down Sidewall L2 construction improves edge-hold underfoot with half-cap construction at the tip and tail to protect the ski from mechanical damage.
Flex
Tip-to-tail Wood core gives you a predictable flex all day long and for seasons to come.
Cap construction in the tip and tail allow the ski to be softer in just the right places.
Binding Compatibility
Requires brake width of at least 100mm

Comments about Atomic Access Skis 2012:

I skied the big Alta 2012 demo day last spring. I tried many wide and rockered skis. There was about 18" of new. Liked a lot of the skis. I tried these since the next pair I wanted was unavailable. I went from not expecting much to being blown away. They do so much so well. The biggest surprise was the bumps for a wide rockered tip. I'm getting a pair of these.

Had to wait for some real snow and it was worth it. I love this ski and highly recommend it. It's like cheating!!

Only complaint is limited or no vibration control on hard or icy surfaces,.

Comments about Atomic Access Skis 2012:

This would make a great choice for an Intermediate/Advanced all-mountain ski if you're out west. It is a bit soft to really stomp on the edge if you are a really expert skier (I've been skiing for 30+ years, but I'm light enough that it wasn't too mushy underfoot), but if you ski less aggressively this would feel nice. The high tip a decent waist let it skim over the crud and springtime slush piles, and while I didn't find any deep powder this year, I am pretty sure these would have a nice amount of float. I also skied these on some good New England manmade packed powder, and they were surprisingly good these, and with some weight on the edge they carved better than I expect.

Full Disclosure: I won these as a door prize at a ski movie, I didn't purchase them myself.

Ultimately I wouldn't recommend these for an aggressive expert skier, but if you primarily ski out west and are an intermediate/advanced skier, these would make a pretty solid choice for an all-mountain ski!

Comments about Atomic Access Skis 2012:

I love this ski. It's durable, responsive, and lively. The bases are really strong and take a beating. It's great for powder days with up to 12" of new snow but not much more snow than that. Otherwise you might as well buy the Bent-chetler if those are the conditions you ride everyday (lucky!). I was really surprised by the Access's performance on hardpack. This thing loves to carve. However, it's not to great for moguls but what do you expect from a powder ski. I gave it 4 stars because its not exactly a big mountain charging ski. You might want to go with something a little stiffer instead (Moment Bibby Pro, ON3P Caylor, 4FRNT Renegade).

A great overall ski from hard pack to a little dust on hard to powder. Slips from one to another snow quality with very little effort.
