Armada Pipe Cleaner Skis 2013

The Armada Pipe Cleaner Skis raise industry standards for half pipe skis. The ski of choice for many Olympic hopefuls, this ski isn't meant to be warm and fuzzy like its arts and crafts equivalent. Armada made the Pipe Cleaner fast, strong, and lightweight to be your gateway to glory. If you strive to be the best, get the ski who knows no rest. Go for the gold with the Armada's Pipe Cleaner Ski!
Rocker Type
Positive Camber - Traditional camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge control.
Flex
Flex Pattern - Tip: 5.5, Waist: 7.5, Tail: 6.5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)
Core
Hybrid Double Zone Core - Two high density wood stringers rest alongside ultralight wood in the ski's core, and add to stability and strength without compromising weight.
Laminates
Laminate Matrix - Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.
CK Stringer - Carbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.
Sidewalls
AR50 Sidewall Construction - ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.
Base
Comp Series Base - A World Cup-inspired base that requires higher maintenance than the S7, the Comp Series pays for the extra TLC it requires in one way: Speed.
Edges
2.5 Impact Edge - This edge has an oversized height and width, and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness, which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet.
Binding Compatibility
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Armada Pipe Cleaner Skis 2013:

I bought this ski hoping it would be similar to the AR7 or T-Hall. This ski tops both of them in my opinion. It is much lighter than the Halo, T-Hall and AR7 which was surprising. Although it may be called the pipe cleaner, don't let that fool you. It is amazing on rails and is faster on jumps. The stiffer feel also gives it more pop. My go-to ski hands down for park.

Comments about Armada Pipe Cleaner Skis 2013:

First time on the Pipe Cleaner and I love it. Super predictable, plenty of pop and incredibly stable. I like that it has a round flex instead of "butter zones" so I can ski it everywhere and am not just limited to the park or pipe. Still kinda narrow from what I prefer but hands down my favorite from Armada's park and pipe skis.
