Send those cat track jumps, dive into your hidden pillow stash, and open it up on the bigger faces on the Armada JJ 2.0 Skis. The ski that cemented Armada as a major player in the field of freestyle pow skis is back yet again with a 117 mm waist (at 185 cm length), its signature aggressive taper, and tight turning radius. Air things out, charge fast in deep snow, and turn the whole mountain into your terrain park on the Armada JJ 2.0 Skis. Plus they've got a llama scrawled across the topsheet, which is pretty rad!

Comments about Armada JJ 2.0 Skis 2017:

I'm 5'9" 185lbs so bought this ski in the 185cm length hoping to find an everyday ski for Colorado. These skis are so much fun in untracked pow, especially trees, and hold an edge pretty well on groomers. But skiing untracked pow all day rarely happens and groomed terrain is usually pretty boring so I find myself skiing chop and crud a lot. This is where the JJ really shows its weakness. The soft playful nature of these skis leads to poor performance when trying to charge hard through chop as the tips deflect a lot and the skis really get knocked around. I would not recommend these skis if you are a heavier, stronger skier and like to charge open bowls and steep lines. If you like mellower speeds, jibbing, and are lighter I think these are a pretty good ski.

Comments about Armada JJ 2.0 Skis 2017:

    I am 6'2" and 215 pounds
    I bought the 195 (120 wide)

I was unsure whether to go for the 185 (117 wide) or 195 (120 wide) as didn't want to lose versatility in tight trees/chutes but i wanted the 195 for a ski that would drive hard on powder days. I asked Armada for their advice, went for the 195 and couldn't be happier.

Have skied them on a range of conditions from 30cm fresh to 10cm dust on crust to soft groomers with the occasional icy patches. The ski is very buttery and surfy in any hint of powder, stiff enough to drive and float and I was surprised at how well they handled the groomers. This is a powder ski and you wouldn't be buying these for groomers and bumps but the ski is perfectly fine at handling them and is much easier to get on an edge than I expected it would be. Even on icy patches the ski grips and gets on edge easy for a 120 wide ski.

The twin tip and rocker makes it ski a bit shorter and the advised turning radius of 18m is bang on, this ski is super versatile and no issues with the length of the ski in tighter spaces. If in doubt on length of ski go a size up.

Lots of debate on the interweb about binding set up. I have them set up at -5c from true center which is the factory recommended set up on the JJ 2.0 and I have the Marker Baron bindings. I did demo at -3cm and while it wasn't a material difference it felt more comfortable at the -5cm factory recommended. You still have plenty of tail behind you, still easy to spin and is solid skiing switch. I didn't have any issues with chatter on the hard pack.

While these were bought primarily as a powder ski they handle varied conditions surprisingly well and are not out of place booting around the resort or getting through the chopped up powder by mid-morning.

Comments about Armada JJ 2.0 Skis 2017:

There are many good things about this ski like its amazingly air time off these little jumps and the way you can pop off of anything. Another reason is when I installed the top of the line bindings on them there where nice and decently light for the way up but when i got to the top it exceeded my test for the way down . I love this ski so much and think more people should buy it.
