Armada Halo Skis 2012: The creative application of patented EST Park Rocker to a park-specific chassis creates the next generation Armada Halo Skis for carving between transitions, buttering off them, and floating beyond them. Stable underfoot and loose and buttery at the tip and tails, the Halo slaughters the park for whole new levels of progression.
Shape
EST Park Rocker incorporates subtle rocker in the tips and tails with positive camber underfoot that enhances carving while also disengaging the tip and tail to create a catch-free feel that’s ideal for buttering and nose and tail presses.
This is a 5-dimension ski where the widest points are set back closer to the bindings for a tip and tail that are extremely maneuverable and hook-free for progressive, technical tricks.
Construction
With an AR50 side wall, the ABS sidewall meets Cap construction, combining lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.
The Halo has a 2.5 edge, an oversized height and width and the steel heat-treated to a proprietary hardness which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges, and other abuse.
The S7 base, Armada’s toughest base, features a gliding additive for increased speed and longevity.
The Laminate Matrix consists of three kinds of fiberglass laminates are used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity needed in the appropriate places.
A blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers run along the tail of the ski to stabilize it, creating a better landing platform, increased snap and added pop.
Flex
The Hybrid Double Zone core is made up of two high density wood stringers that sit along ultralight wood creating a light core with pop and solid edge hold, while keeping swing and overall weight down. ABS layers are pre-installed alongside the core directly underfoot to concentrate the weight of the ski below the boot sole to increase durability and lower swing weight.
Flex Pattern: tip - 5, waist - 7, tail - 6 (out of 10)
Dimensions
12.5m @ 170cm 94/111/81/100/85, 14m @ 176cm 95/112/82/101/86, 15.5m @ 182cm 96/113/83/102/87
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake that is equal to the waist width and at most 20mm wider. (brake width = ski width + 20mm)

Comments about Armada Halo Skis 2012:

HALO's are so playful and responsive. Radical sidecut makes super quick turns. Just enough rocker for catch free spins, and makes them super easy to press and jib. Meanwhile tons of camber (just as much as some of my full cambered all mountain park/pipe skis) give it incredible edge hold on the hard pack groomers and icy slopes. Lots of flex make it perfect for pressing and buttering, if you're a lighter skier like myself, these will serve as an all mountain ski as well, heavier, these will probably be you're strictly park skis. NOT FOR POWDER, if you want powder, look at the JJ or TST, these are strictly for the hard park of groomers and the park. Yes there is rockered tip & tail, but that's for Jibbing and catch free spins. DON'T set these at Center, these aren't full cambered park skis, the tip is more rockered than the tail, i.e. the center for even pressure skiing regular or switch is actually a couple cm's back, the factory recommends -2.5, I have mine at -2

Comments about Armada Halo Skis 2012:

This is my favorite park ski I have riden. With their innovative design and sweeet feel you'll be turning heads left and right. Comfortable on rails as well as jumps small and large (strong enough to stick any landing you can toss at them. If you get snow feel free to take them off some backcountry booters, they float better than other park skis on the market.they have early rise so feel free to get them longer for they feel shorter because their design. I reconend these to any park rider big or small.
