All-around mountain savage Wiley Miller's Signature ski, the 4FRNT YLE Skis, are a tool of backcountry freestyle destruction and progression that you need on your feet. Want to build a booter in the backcountry and hit it all day? The YLE is your ski. With a traditional contact points, twin tips, and a symmetrical shape, the YLE is built like a very fat, rockered park ski. Imagine the things you will think about flying through the air.
Rocker Type
Rocker - An upturned radius in the tips and tails lets the ski float through powder and off-trail conditions

Shape
Traditional Contact - The two contact points of the ski are at the tips and tails.
Twin Tip - The tail of the ski is also upturned to allow for switch skiing and landings.
Symmetrical - The same dimensions in the tip and the tail, along with a near centered mounting point
Backcountry Freestyle - Take the park into the backcountry with these skis designed for maximum stompage.
Core
Hi-Lite Core - A blend of poplar and beech makes Hi-Lite Cores snappy and lightweight with enough substance to drive wider skis in soft snow.
Laminates
Semi-Cap - Semi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability.

Base
Purl Wax - Purl Wax is based out of Colorado and is made from renewable and natural sources. 4FRNT chooses to wax their bases with Purl Ice-9 wax because it is 100% biodegradable, petroleum free, and keeps nasty PFCs out of human bodies and watersheds.

Additional Features
Snow Sports Recycling Program - This program collects old ski gear such as skis, boots, poles and various other equipment and grinds up the material for re-purposing. The White Room contributes all of its fiberglass and wood scrap from cutting the skis out once they come off the press.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Big Mountain
    Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Long
    Long
    > 22 m radius is best for powder and big-mountain.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
