4FRNT CODY Skis 2013

When 4FRNT founder Matt Sterbenz decided to drop his namesake MSP ski and give another deserving skier a shot, he tapped R&D guru Cody Barnhill for the honor. Bucking the "big day" trend of the other pro models, Cody designed a ski for those slightly less-than-epic sessions where maneuverability and edgehold are more of a factor than float. The 4FRNT CODY Skis are mid-fat skis by today's standards, with waist widths hovering around 100 mm, a mildly rockered tip and tail, and camber under your bindings. This is a great ski for alternating between groomers and slashing through the trees several days after a storm.
Rocker Type
Classic Camber w/Rocker - Classic camber underfoot with tip and tail rocker for a combination of soft and hard snow performance
Shape
Asymmetrical Shaping - Directional shaping that prefers travelling forward
Tip and Tail Taper - Neutral sidecut length at the tip and tails widest dimensions
Twin Tip
Core
Mega-Block Core - Ash and beech laminated together for the three "D" effect: Damp, Dense and Durable
Laminates
Fiberglass Reinforcement - Fiberglass laminates above and below the core
Sidewalls
Semi-Cap Construction - Combines a cap over the top of the ski with sidewalls on top of the edges for the best of both worlds - edgehold AND durability
Base
Sintered Base
Edges
Full-Wrap Edge
Additional Features
Artist - Cody's brother Dylan Barnhill
Binding Compatibility
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about 4FRNT CODY Skis 2013:

Ive ridden alot of skis, and this is a standout.

If your looking for a ski that can really do it all, then this is it.
Early pow, mid morning groomers, beers at lunch, park laps and slush to top it all off.

this ski excels in everything.

I also let a mate (who normal rides narrow skis) have a go and he rode them like he had been riding them his whole life.

this ski wont let you down.

The Cody

Comments about 4FRNT CODY Skis 2013:

This is my 4FRNT ski of choice for messing around on a no new snow day. IT turns quick on the groomers and is super playful and poppy for jumping off everything in between. It handles variable snow well but can get a little loose at high speeds.

Comments about 4FRNT CODY Skis 2013:

I was excited to get on this ski. A lot of companies are integrating a tapered tip and tail, it's surfy like properties help the ski staying on top of the snow when on edge. I didn't realize how narrow it was until seeing it in person. It performed really well for something that narrow with that much taper. Other skis I have tried out were almost frightening how grabby and easy they were to catch an edge, I felt at home right away on the Cody. Targeted as an all-mountain, every day ski that you could have fun on regardless of the conditions it seemed to do just that. The ski is a bit more forgiving than the Turbo from 4FRNT and can maybe waiver at times of highspeed and chop. A trade-off of sorts. Those looking for a more playful, surfy feel look at the Cody, those looking for a bit more powerful, traditional feeling ski choose the Turbo.
