4FRNT CODY Skis 2014

All mountain skiers like Cody Barnhill who have a real job and don't always get to ski bottomless pow need a ski that will kill it day in and day out. The 4FRNT CODY Skis are made with a tapered rocker, and all mountain shape. The relatively short turning radius means this ski is still quick despite its tree trunk-esque tip and tail. Recommended for use on mountains big and small regardless of the snow conditions.
Rocker Type
Tapered Rocker - A lengthened tip shape where the rocker meets camber and the sidecut starts

Sidecut
Tip/Tail Taper - The neutral sidecut length at the tip and tails' widest dimension.
Shape
Twin Tip - The tail of the ski is also upturned to allow for switch skiing and landings.
Asymmetrical - A directional shape that gives the ski a more consistent feel
All Mountain Shape - When you are looking for a one-ski-quiver, look no further than this all-mountain ski
Core
Mega-Block Core - Ash and Beech come together to form our most dense and damp core for the best in all-mountain dominance.
Laminates
Semi-Cap - Semi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability.

Base
Sintered Base
Purl Wax - Purl Wax is based out of Colorado and is made from renewable and natural sources. 4FRNT chooses to wax their bases with Purl Ice-9 wax because it is 100% biodegradable, petroleum free, and keeps nasty PFCs out of human bodies and watersheds.

Additional Features
Snow Sports Recycling Program - This program collects old ski gear such as skis, boots, poles and various other equipment and grinds up the material for re-purposing. The White Room contributes all of its fiberglass and wood scrap from cutting the skis out once they come off the press.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Medium
    Medium
17-22 m radius is best for all-mountain and park & pipe.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
