The X-Drive 8.3 is the lightest member of the Salomon X-Drive family. The Salomon X-Drive 8.3 Skis + XT12 Bindings combines the technology that makes the X-Drive family stand out; X-Chassis, RKS, and a Ti laminate, with a lightweight core. The result is a ski that is smooth, stable, and ready to take on the mountain at a weight that will let you keep skiing all day.

Light Density Wood Core – Stability and rebound with a 15% weight savings over the traditional wood core.
Laminates
X-Chassis – Carbon/Polyamide diagonal reinforcement in the middle of the ski for increased torsional stiffness, edge grip, and stability
RKS Rocker Stabilizer – 3D Composite fiber reinforcement in the rocker contact zones for increased precision and control on-piste.
Single Ti Laminate – Phenomenal edge grip, efficient energy transfer, and liveliness.
Sidewalls
Semi Sandwich Sidewall – A combination of ABS sidewall in the middle of the ski and monocoque in the tip and tail means edge grip underfoot and light weight in the tip and tail.
Included Bindings
Bindings Do Not Come Mounted to Skis – Always have a certified binding technician mount and adjust your bindings.
Includes XT12 Bindings – Lower, wider, lighter and made for a better ski-to-snow contact. Bindings must be mounted and adjusted prior to use.

Carving For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries. All-Mountain All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.

Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.

Partial Twin Tip Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
