Rossignol Pursuit 16 Ti Basalt Skis + Axial2 120 Bindings 2014

Bring the fun back to on-piste skiing with the Rossignol Pursuit 16 Ti Basalt Skis + Axial2 120 Bindings package. These fun but forgiving frontside skis combine stability and edge grip to deliver the perfect blend of hard snow carving performance and ease of turn initiation. H-Structure World Cup technology and an Oversize Sidecut provide extreme precision in each carve for smooth, precise on-trail skiing. Paired with Axial2 120 bindings, this package delivers fantastic performance for the intermediate to advanced skier who sticks mostly to the groomed.
Rocker Type
Power Turn Rocker - 90% traditional high camber under foot with 10% subtle tip rocker. The traditional camber provides power and edge grip for snap and boost while the 10% rocker facilitates turns for faster, more aggressive lines.
Core
Wood
Laminates
Sandwich Laminate - Wood cores with metal and / or high tech laminates provide ultimate stability, power and durability. Traditional sidewalls apply direct pressure to the edges for increased precision and edging power.
VAS Complex Ti / Basalt - Titanium stringers woven into basalt fibers provides a lighter alternative to metal laminates. VAS removes vibrations, providing increased stability and dampness without adding weight.
H Technology - A Lengthwise split in the metal (or fiber) laminate at tip and tail allows torsional flex at the extremities of the ski. Provides smooth turn initiation and improved full-edge contact.
Sidewalls
IPS Diamond - Optimizes transmission of power applied by boot to ski edges to boost power and grip. The concave profile makes the sidewalls higher, applying even greater pressure to the edges. The concave shape also reduces the ski weight by 100 g per pair.
Included Bindings
Rossignol Axial 2 Bindings Included
Bindings Do Not Come Mounted to Skis - Always have a certified binding technician mount and adjust your bindings.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Basalt, Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
