K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis + Marker MX 14.0 Bindings 2013

The K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis with Marker MX 14.0 Bindings come as the widest ski package in the A.M.P. series. The Aftershock kills it in soft and chopped conditions. With the All-Terrain Rocker™ this ski excels off-piste, but still has enough power to shred the hard snow and carve trenches in whatever firm conditions it encounters.
Shape
All-Terrain Rocker™ - Designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip and tail for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edgehold in firmer conditions.

Progressive Sidecut - A combination of two different radii that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis guaranteeing improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Construction
Aspen/Paulownia Core - Aspen is known for its inherent strength and durability, while the Paulownia is eco-friendly and lightweight.
Metal Laminate - Consists of 2 sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski. Alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal sandwich the wood core to provide dampened, accurate, and unshakable performance.
Hybritech Sidewalls - A unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions that combine the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Bindings
The K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis come with the Marker MX 14 bindings for an advanced skier. Working in conjunction with the integrated titanal hubs, the Marker K2/MX system provides unmatched precision and control. The system uses Marker’s Inter-Pivot Heel technology and lightweight Triple-Pivot Comfort MX toe. This toe comes with a crossmounted spring, stainless steel AFD, and backward release function.
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Additional Features
Mod Technology - This is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.

Mod Monic - A focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure

Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.

      Comments about K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis + Marker MX 14.0 Bindings 2013:

I finally sold these skis... They are okay (that's being generous) at everything but not great at anything. I owned the 181's... They were really heavy, and I found that they drug me to the bottom of the snow if I was ever off piste... they were alright in lighter snow with moderate coverage, but in the PNW they were burdensome to ski on after a heavy dump. When I first got them I liked them alright, but I have gotten much better since then and came to love some other skis I have demoed. I would not recommend these skis, simply because I can think of plenty of others that I would recommend before these.

        Comments about K2 A.M.P. Aftershock Skis + Marker MX 14.0 Bindings 2013:

The Aftershocks are a really solid all mountain ski that will give you lots of confidence underfoot. They perform best in medium powder days, off-piste, and when your want to charge down groomers. But be warned on-piste but you must stay on top of them slightly; they honestly took me more time to figure out how to ride them comfortably while tooling around on groomed beginner trails with my wife. I would also suggest to ignore the sizing chart and go down one size if you are an East Coast skier and you do not live where they get big dumps; I demoed theses in 174's in 2012 and had a blast at Stowe VT, but I went up to the 181's which were recommended for my height and abilities and the additional 7 inches keeps me more on my toes when navigate though moguls or in the tight trees of the East coast, which makes the Aftershocks a tad bit less fun and a tad more challenging.
