Hiking without the Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket would be a mistake. Not only is it constructed with waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX®, it's super packable so you can easily stow it in your bag and be on your way, knowing you've packed excellent storm protection along. The Beta SL also has articulated patterning that allows you to move freely and a StormHood™ with a laminated brim that keeps water away from your face. The features go on and on (WaterTight™ zippers, fully taped seams, an adjustable hem drawcord), but there's only one way to truly experience the Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket: wear it.

Comments about Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket:

The fit of this jacket is incredibly awkward. The main problem is that the chest area is way too large compared to the width at the torso. Unless you have Schwarzenegger like girth, this probably isn't going to fit very well.

lightwieght jacket

Comments about Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket:

This is a solid lightwieght jacket. It lacks some of the comforts of similiar shells by other manufacturers like armpit zippers and side handwarmer pockets. The lack of these features was not really a concern for me because I wanted a lightwieght rainshell in a muted color for both everyday wear and fishing. I have recently purchased a second Beta SL so needless to say I am pleased and the high price tag is worth the performance.
