    I bought this wetsuit to surf in Washington, BC, and OR. I went out in it for the first time in January (45 degree water) and for me its warm enough.
    I usually need to buy tall size (usually Med. tall) gear, but the large wasn't too roomy in the middle and fits me fine.
    I don't have a lot of experience with other wetsuits so I can't compare the quality of the craftsmenship with that of other brands. It seems very solid (stitching, reinforcements, materials, etc), but time will be the true test.

            I should have been more careful about ordering the size. I'm 5'9' and 169 with an athletic build. I couldn't hardly fit into the Medium. I think I should have gotten a Large.

              My first wetsuit! I purchased this for the chilly waters around Kodiak Alaska. Right now (February) our water is about 37 degrees F. As long as I stay busy on a board, body, skim or surf, it doesn't matter. Any small amounts of water that seeps in is warmed up right away. I highly recommend the Xcel Brand to anyone going for their first suit...

                As someone who has been surfing for over 15 years and who has owned many wetsuits, I feel qualified to say this wetsuit does a very good job for and for a slightly fairer price then some other brands. It is very warm and put together very well. It is very tight and hard to put on, but that is how wetsuits are designed to keep out water and it loosened up after getting it wet a bit. The ankle and wrist seals do a great job to prevent flushing and the suit is very flexible for a 5 mil. Definitely recomended
