Product Info

Ronix pulled out all the stops by focusing on these 3 priorities for the One Modello Edition Wakeboard: 1) Make a board that doesn’t feel tight on the water – recessing the fins inside of the wake without sacrificing stability. 2) Build a smoother blend in the variable rail for more predictable edge transfers. 3) With the help of Parks Bonifay, create a new style of rocker with the most glide speed. Every aspect of the Ronix One Modello board’s rocker was built for the least amount of resistance with the water. Now you can ride longer with less work and carry more overall speed into the wake.

Product Details

Construction

Mod PourA stiffer, lighter, super saucy core with the highest strength to weight ratio

Krypto CableConsists of different fibers woven together that surround the profile of the board and are fused together with the Mod Pour core. Combined with monocoque laminated glass, the sidewalls are the strongest part of the board.

Parallel CarbonThis weave provides a more rigid layup than a traditional fiberglass board.

Rocker and Base Features

Late RockerAn exaggerated rocker liner with a later arc and a higher degree to provide a more straight up explosive pop. This style of rocker creates more of an instant explosive buck off the wake - for riders that go behind a big boat wake.

Sintered BaseThe most durable base material tested on rails without loosing any glide speed on the water with a higher purity of a compound that preserves its bond over time.

Glide SpeedDesigned with more water surface contact and less coefficient drag. Riders have less resistance, and travels up the wake with more forward momentum and lands with less impact. The lift comes from an easier release and added speed.

Rails/Edges

New surf/round rail with a soft bevel through the center allows the board to ride higher and prevents that all too familiar edge catching digger.

Rail blends to a sharper bevel and a vertical sidewall in the tip/tail creating additional contact with the water.

Thin profile reduces swing weight

Fins

4 Detachable 1.0" Ramp Fins

Additional Features

Deeper side vents for fins provide the best in traction with a looser feel and a quick release.

Designed and endorsed by Danny Harf

Instant EnergyAllows a quicker way to generate lift off the transition as the energy takes place sooner. With a super firm snap off the wake, this board is for riders that can handle the extra kick.

First impressions of this board:
1) Holds its edge better than any board I've ridden
2) It helps you come out of shaky landings

This is my first Ronix board. I am very impressed with the ride. When turning to come into the wake, it feels like you're on a rail. I love the way it holds on and locks in.

The board feels heavy compared to other boards. I'm 6'2" and 190 lbs, so the extra weight is a non-issue. In fact, I feel that the weight is the main reason why this board is so stable on landings. It seems to sit higher in the water, which has allowed me to land tricks that would have otherwise been crashes for sure. If you get any part of the bottom of the board on the water, it is going to grab hold and help pull you through the landing.

I am not getting huge pop out of the board yet. This is my first three stage rocker, so hopefully I'll figure it out. I was concerned with the flat bottom (referred to by Ronix as the sweet spot) being unforgiving on landings. On the contrary, I am taking landings into the flats and the impact is no problem.

The stance on the newer boards is a bit wider. Mine is at 24" right now. It was an easy adjustment to make and now feels natural after a few sessions.

Because the board holds it edge so well, I think it makes it marginally more difficult to break the board loose, but once you learn to feel your feet on this board, you'll have no trouble.

I bought this board after trying a previous generation Ronix One and reading all the positive reviews. I was looking for something between the super edging S4 and loose (in a good way) Murray. Several reviewers note that the board is heavy. The board may weigh a little more than average, but the real problem is that it generates a high level of surface tension and does not release cleanly from the wake. That makes it seem even heavy and sluggish on the water. I tried smaller fins, but that did not work well because the fins are recessed. It is better at 22mph, but I prefer 20mph. The board carves nice and is predictable, but is not a board that I think will progress your riding. The Liquid Force S4 feels much more lively and releases from the wake like a dream compared to this board. The Hyperlite Murray is a better choice for loose board to have fun with.

I am around 155lbs and ride a 142 One. Compared to my Viva 140 its big. Control wise its great not too loose or too tight on the water, great pop, smooth landings, just kind of heavy compared to other ronix boards. makes it tough to bring it up for grabs sometimes, especially if your grabbing a spin. For a lighter board go with the parks or viva, otherwise a great board

Comments about Ronix One Modello Edition Wakeboard 2012:

I bought this board for its straight up pop and it performs as advertised. After two sessions, I'm getting more lift and height with less effort than any other board I've ridden, 3-stage or continuous. Also, the 'glide speed' that Ronix refers to is for real - I've already slowed the boat down .5 mph to keep from landing in the flats, and will likely slow down a bit more after additional time on the board. Only thing that kept me from a 5-Star rating is that the board isn't as loose as promoted for surface spins, but it is loose enough for an easy release off the wake and hasn't grabbed hard on any sketchy landings yet. All things considered, a great board and extremely pleased with it! Highly recommended.

I am Ronix convert. Came from 2 CWB boards, then bought a 2010 Ronix ONE LTD and loved it. Broke it this year and upgraded to this ONE. I love it too. Rides a bit different, but still solid. breaks free, goes huge and lands soft. I really wanted the Time Bomb at first, but now I'm not sure what I would be missing. This does everything I need it to.

Base color has faded with some odd markings from the sun, performance not effected. Nice wide stance pattern.

It's a great board...way better than my skills are TODAY. The first day out I immediately jumped a couple of grades in skill-level. So I'm very happy with it and can easily see a faster learning curve ahead than on my previous low-end board.

I have been riding about 10 years and enjoy this board. I am very aggressive, no flips bit do jump. It is less fatiguing than the last board I rode which is tight on the water.

Probably one of the best boards I have ridden. And for the price you can't beat the bang for your buck.

Fantastic board. Looks great right out of the box. Rides extremely well. I'm no expert, but this board was a great purchase for my first serious board. I've ridden other nice boards, and this one beats them all. Smooth on the water and gives you a nice pop of the wake. The Modello is a good choice for any rider.

It's a nice board. Has a wide feel to it compared to the 03 Parks board I rode. I wakeskate a lot more than wakeboard, so I like a less-connected feel to the water. These fins are shallow, but I still want less fins than this. I'm going shorter and shallower on those. The rocker is definitely less abrubt than a Parks board. Quality looks great, board is nice for sure. Forgiving on the edges.

I bought the board and love it for the most part, but its not totally what I thought it would be from the write up. I like a looser feel and when the board came it was a bit tight with the one inch fins. I called both evo and tonic to try to get some of the .8 ramp fins only to be told it could be up to 8 weeks as they had to come from China. I've bought some of the slider fins until they show up, but I'm disappointed I can't get my hands on the ones I want.
