Comments about CWB Charger Wakeboard + Tyke Bindings - Youth - Boy's 2012:

I purchased this setup for my beginner 8yr-old girl and 10yr-old boy to learn how to wake board. According to the size chart it seemed a good fit for both to start, without being too expensive.

As it turns out the board is a great size for our 8yr-old only. She has size 2 youth feet and is about 60lbs. The board is maneuverable without being gangly and the boots compress down well on her skinny feet. The hinge-tech on the boot is fabulous for parents, who have to do the lion-share of wiggling little feet in and out while perched on a swim deck. Great buy in that respect.

Unfortunately, the board is not a good fit for my 70lb 10yr-old. He has size 5.5 feet, which he can wiggle into the bindings, but are busting out. They were too uncomfortable for him to keep on for even a small time. Luckily, he fit into my 5-8 size bindings much more comfortably. However, the Tyke bindings are attached with a screwdriver, instead of thumbscrews, making it time consuming to switch out bindings. I would think that with this size "kid" board, switching out bindings would be a common thing. Thumb screws would be helpful.

My son was able to get up on the board, but we felt that it road low in the water for his weight. On a whim we threw him on my 138 board and he really took off.

We are happy with the purchase for our daughter, but if you have a child who is a taller 10 yr-old, I would suggest putting them in something bigger.
