The only draw back I can find for these boots is that I'm not sure how to mold them in the oven and so the sole of the boot is flat forth first couple uses and they tend to tire your knees and feet out fast at first. I really like how the closed toes make it possible to cut very hard on the toeside edge without catching an edge and losing control. The base system on the boots seem to give u more overall control of the board and are very stable. I'm definatly a convert to closed toes
