I use this vest for back country skiing. The pack fits and rides really well. I find that due to the fact you need to take the vest off to get to your shovel / probes / etc the zipper often becomes jammed with snow and is then hard to make work. I make sure to re-zip the zipper prior to placing the vest down in snowy conditions to avoid the problem....hastle.
i also wish the shovel was more secure ..provide a strap for the handle.
I also wish the shoulders were slightly tapper so they fit better.
Over all it ia a great item for day trips out into the back country.
I am not wild about the hook style buckles...as the are hard to keep adjusted....would rather have real buckles.
Overall i like the vest and wear it all the time.

this vest is a great substitute for a bulky back pack. it has tons of pockets including storage for mountain tools on the back along with ski/snowboard mounting capabilities. It has a great fit with just enough padding where its needed! Iv only used it at the shooting range so far but cant wait to use it this winter!
