Product Info

The Volkl Kenja Skis + Marker Griffon Demo Bindings, longtime standby of hard-carving resort skiers worldwide, get a subtle re-design for 2016, and it's all for the better. A little more width in the waist, a little more rocker at both ends of the ski, and a bit of tip taper make this a better all-rounder with smoother performance in fresh snow. Rest assured though that the tenacious edgehold and stability at speed are still there in spades - in fact, testers last spring found it even better as a performance machine than its predecessor, which is quite a feat.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Freeski Tip & Tail RockerMakes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. Only the shovel and tail zones bend upwards, with traditional cambering in the middle.

Sidecut

Early Tapered SidecutTaper in the tip and tail allows the ski to steer in and out of the turn more easily in powder and gives you the freedom to choose any turn shape you wish.

Core

Multi Layer WoodcoreVölkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.

Laminates

Power ConstructionConstruction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and a smooth ride.

Titanal LaminateA metal layer just under the topskin delivers dampness and power at speed.
