Comments about Spark R&D Afterburner Splitboard Baseplate Kit 2014:

EVO Note: This conversion kit cannot be used on 11/12 and prior bindings without an additional $25 heel loop from Spark. The holes on the old heel cup do not transfer over to the new baseplate. This is not mentioned on the site, nor offered as a purchase. Must be corrected.

Review: I have not had these out on the snow yet due to the above, but the lack of pins is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade in functionality. The Spark system was always self clearing and the elimination of the pin works great. The incorporation of the risers into the baseplate provides a less wobbly base to stand on and looks to be easier to operate with a pole. Plus the riser base support should give a little more room to make stance adjustments compared to dual wire risers of the past.

Cannot wait to get these out on tour (but need more snow first)
