            Good socks. Warm... I guess the best thing I could say is I didn't notice them the whole day skiing which is exactly what you want. Don't remember ever feeling cold, itchy or uncomfortable. Would recommend the socks.

                These socks are great. They are very comfortable. They contain 70% or more merino wool so they are very warm. They are the midweight version. They have extra cushion in key areas specifically for ski boots which is very nice. They are very tall socks, easily up to my knees which is fine. I prefer the midweight more than the light or ultralight myself. Those have a lower percentage of merino wool and they are too thin for me to be comfortable skiing in. I love these socks, I plan to buy the newest PhD skiing socks in medium weight as well. I own many Smartwool products such as midweight base layers and I love them all. Great stuff. Highly recommend Smartwool products.

                  Great fit and comfort on the slopes for hours of fun. Much better than the athletic socks I was using. I did not get a chance to really challenge these socks in low temperatures but I'm sure they will out perform everything else.
                  They have super tight fit which is exactly what wanted for ski boots.
                  I could even see myself using these for when I'm trout fishing.

                    Funny thing to review socks but a good pair of socks is like a good friend; warm, nice looking, cozy, yet stinky if you hang out with them too long;) Yet these wool socks, like your friends, take a lot of wearing to get stinky i bet.
                    Wool socks are also the best for wicking and these are great.
                    They have "Baby Bear" thickness = Just right; I don't like thick socks, nor too thin, for skiing.
                    Only complaint is that they are LONG on the top- over the calf fer 'sho and i have long legs...
                    I have not had them long enough to check durability but they seem well made.
