Salomon The Villain Snowboard 2014

The 2014 Salomon Villain Snowboard shreds what it wants, when it wants. Featuring Rock Out Camber profile, True Twin shape and a medium flex for riders who prefer a looser, more skate-like feel, this snowboard is super maneuverable and stable for when you’re thrashing rails or hauling through the trees. Enhanced with durable and lightweight Aspen SLCT core, alongside Area51 base for lightning speed acceleration, the Villain Classicks can handle anything.
Rocker Type
Rock Out Camber - Flat between your bindings for stability, camber near the feet for response, and rocker on the tip and tail for pressability.

Flex
Flex Rating: 4 (1 Softest - 10 Stiffest) - A medium flex for intermediates or riders who prefer a looser, more skate-like feel.
Shape
True Twin - Salomon's true twin shape is a freestyle specific shape with identical tip and tail lengths and shapes creating a symmetrical core profiling, flex and a centered binding stance.
EQ Rad Sidecut - Equalizer and Radial lines blend together for the perfect balance of agility and fun.
Core
Aspen SLCT - Every single FSC certified wood strip is hand selected to ensure unparalleled core quality with a light weight.
Popster Booster - Add carbon stringers to standard Popster and you get all the energy from under your feet radiating to the tip and tail for maximizing pop.
Laminates
BA MD - Medium density European-made fiberglass layers for a guaranteed consistency of quality on light and lively boards.
Sidewalls
Royal Rubber Pads - 4 mm Soft Royal Rubber blocks inserted into the high-pressure zones of Salomon's ABS sidewalls for dampening vibrations and mellowing out during the big impacts
Base
Sintered EG - Salomon has engineered this base for a super fast glide on everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow. A sintered base material provides superior wax retention while Gallium strengthens impact resistance and the Electra finish gives a turbo-charged glide.
Medium Stone Finish - A medium structure finish that improves Salomon's fast sintered base glide is quicker in all snow conditions, from cold morning corduroy to spring slush.
Edges
Freestyle Edge Bevel - Salomon creates a freestyle edge by detuning the tip and tail and then moving to a 2 degree edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut and then moves back to a 3 degree bevel edge between the feet, all to deliver a complete blend of edge hold and park shred.

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker shapes seek to give you both hard-carving edgehold on firm snow from camber underfoot with enhanced turnability and float in powder from the rockered tip and tail. This profile is increasingly popular for freeride boards designed primarily for soft snow.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
