Salomon Pulse Snowboard 2012

Salomon Shop all Salomon
Put your big bills back in your wallet, the Salomon Pulse Snowboard redefines value and performance. A flat profile, a Radial Sidecut, and a mellow flex in a Directional Twin shape makes riding the Pulse more fun each day. The Pulse is Salomon’s most valuable player.
Rocker Type
Flat Mustache: catch free spins and good pop in the park and pow.
Flex rating: 2 (1 Soft- 5 Stiff) The softer 2 flex allows beginners to advance by dialing in the flex while they command everything on the mountain to do their bidding. Directional Twin Shape is for freestyle moves with a directional flex for power at high-speed and binding stance set back from center slightly.
Construction and Core
The Salomon Pulse Snowboard features the Aspen core providing full length Aspen wood with high-density wood birch stripes for improved insert retention. BA Low Density fibers allow a lighter board that can keep its playful forgiving flex forever.
Created from a perfect circle, Radial Sidecut makes sense for modern park and pipe riding, switch it up and the board rides the same forwards and backwards.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
The standard factory finish protects the board and prevents edge catch.
S-Glide 900 Extruded Base offers long lasting, low-maintenance glide with Salomon’s Standard Stone Finish, the industry benchmark for high-end boards.
Critical Edge Bevel+: only the wide points (the tip and tail) are tuned but with more exaggerated bevel for a more freestyle friendly shred

  • Terrain: Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Flat
A flat profile is just as you’d expect – flat from near the tip of the board to near the tail. This shape splits the difference between camber and rocker, with more forgiving turnability than a fully cambered board and more precise edging capability than a fully rockered one
  • Flex Rating: Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
