Salomon Answer Snowboard 2011 – Question: what board outperforms no matter what conditions the finicky mountain feels like throwing your way? Answer: the Salomon Answer Snowboard, a directional twin all access pass to any part of the mountain that strikes your fancy with effortless turns and unbelievable snap and pop.
Flex
Flex Rating: 3 (1 Soft – 5 Stiff) This all mountain board features a medium flex rating of 3 with a directional twin shape that combines the freestyle freedom of a twin with the high-speed drive of a directional flex.
Construction and Core
The Salomon Answer Snowboard features a Popster Core Profile that harnesses that power of the wood’s natural snap and pop for more air time and bigger ollies. BA Medium Density fiberglass layers also guarantee a consistent quality level for a light and lively board, with bamboo laminates that make the board extremely strong, yet both flexible and snappy.
Base
The Sintered EG Base is engineered for super fast gliding in everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow, providing superior wax retention, strengthened impact resistance and a turbocharged glide. The Fine Stone Grind works with the Sintered EG Base to speed up in powder or softer snow conditions.
Sidewalls and Edges
ABC wrapper is a patented process that uses structural bamboo veneers to reduce fiberglass and resin content, replacing traditional ABS sidewalls with waterproof rods and reducing the plastic content of each board by 40%. Bamboo and rubber rails add durability and increase power distribution with 100% natural bamboo strips topped with aluminum, lighter and livelier than regular ABS and increasing bonding power while protecting from edge blow out. The quadratic sidecut blends elliptic curves for easy turn initiation, effortless direction changes and fluid edge to edge transitions.

Comments about Salomon Answer Snowboard 2011:

It's not been a great winter, but I'd have the opportunity to take this out on both ice and powder and it handled both great. On ice it held well and got me down the mountain in one piece. On powder it rode like a dream - carved beautifully and was a joy to ride.

Picked this up for a great deal on evo and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Salomon Answer Snowboard 2011:

Was very skeptical at first because I had become so used to my twin flex deck...but that thing was beat, and I needed something for all mountain riding in Whistler, BC.

On Day 1, I thought the board was too stiff and that it was hard to maneuver. That night I adjusted my stance and binding settings (I've got Flow Trilogy bindings; reviewed on this site too). Turns out I just needed to tweak my stance and microadjusters on my heel rest...

Day 2 was awesome! The board was flexible where I needed it and stiff in others. I rode groomed, mogul and deep powder for the next 8 days with no complaints. In fact, I love this board so much, it makes me wonder why I waited so long to replace my old one.

The Answer really is THE ANSWER to your riding!!!

Comments about Salomon Answer Snowboard 2011:

I got to take a lap on this board, which my husband owns, and it was a lot of fun.

I thought it would be stiff and heavy as it was a 159 that I tried, and it was light with good torsional flex. I also like that it is a directional twin, because they are better in powder than true twins.

Great pop for this rocker, and good looking too.
