Salomon Acid Snowboard 2012

Salomon took the award winning Official freestyle snowboard and dosed it with some Rocqualizer to bring you the Acid Snowboard with reverse camber, the Salomon way. The Salomon Acid Snowboard has True Twin Shape with the perfect flex for dropping rails and stepping up to big park hits. Stable on take-off’s, forgiving on landings, the Salomon Acid Snowboard is just what you’ve been looking for.
Rocker Type
Pres-sure Rocqualizer Mustache: the playfulness of full reverse camber combined with the edge grip of Equalizer means the best of both camber worlds. The Equalizer Sidecut uses three straight lines to evenly distribute the pressure between your feet and edges for easy access edge hold with a board that won’t wash out.
Flex
Flex rating: 2 (1 Soft - 5 Stiff) This board is for the rider who loves to jib and go big on the jump line, featuring a soft 2 flex with a True Twin Shape that’s freestyle specific with symmetrical core profiling, flex, and a centered binding stance.
Construction and Core
The Salomon Acid Snowboard features the Aspen Light Core - a full length, lightweight Aspen wood with high density Birch strips for extra tough insert retention. This is paired with BA Medium Density fiberglass that guarantees a consistent quality level, resulting in a light and lively board.
Popster shaped core profile maximizes the natural snap and powerful pop of wood for ollie power.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Royal Rubber Rails absorb shock and protect your edges thanks to the 4mm of soft Royal Rubber inserted into the high pressure zones for low stress landings and a smooth ride.
Sintered Base provides superior wax retention paired with the Medium Stone Finish gives you even more speed in all snow conditions, from cold morning corduroy to spring slush.
Full Edge Bevel+: the tip and tail are tuned to a 2 degree edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut and back to a 4 degree bevel between the feet. This delivers the complete blend of edge hold and park shred.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker
    Rocker
A rocker board side profile is the opposite of a camber board, with a smooth downward curvature to it and less edge contact length when the board is weighted. Rocker boards float well in powder and pivot more easily underfoot. They also tend to be less “hooky” at both tip and tail and better for landing spin maneuvers when you don’t quite have enough rotation.
  • Flex Rating: Soft
    Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
