Product Info

The Roxy Ally BTX Snowboard is a versatile, all-mountain freestyle board providing a fun and friendly ride that lets you focus on the adventure in front of you. Developed with Kjersti Buaas, the Ally features a directional twin shape and BTX technology, reverse camber between the feet and no camber from the feet out results in stable landings, increased pop and float-ability in deep powder. You'll be at ease anywhere on the mountain, whether you're carving up groomers or floating through powder.

Product Details

Rocker Type

BTXPatented Banana Traction Technology replaces camber with reverse camber between the feet, and flat, or no camber from the feet out. The board's rockered mid-section is a natural turning arc that flattens out under the rider's weight, providing full nose-to-tail edge contact. The flex pattern includes a slightly stiffer nose and tail for stable landings, increased pop, and float-ability in deep powder. Magnetraction integrates with Banana Technology to boost edge hold in all conditions.

Flex

Flex Rating: 4 (1 Soft - 10 Very Stiff)A medium flex makes every run on the mountain feel like a lap in the park.

Shape

Directional TwinBetween the contact points the board measures a true twin, but the nose above the contact point is slightly higher and longer than the tail. This allows the board to float in powder or choppy snow and still feel consistent when riding switch.

Core

Light Alloy10% Lighter - Roxy's new Engineered Alloy Plantation timber core

Laminates

BiaxialTwo-way fiberglass orientation that is forgiving and fun

Sidewalls

5 SWUHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) exterior sidewalls made from soy-based elastomer are laminated to five internal wood layers for totally bombproof sidewalls.

Base

CX 2500An extruded base that's fast and requires little maintenance

Edges

MagnetractionGet a grip with the edge hold and control that you deserve. Magnetraction works like a bread knife, cutting more efficiently than a straight edge because of the serration. Apply this idea to the snow. The wavy Magnetraction edges enable the board to grip and hold better in all conditions.

Binding Compatibility

2 x 4 Insert Pattern

Comments about Roxy Ally BTX Snowboard - Women's 2014:

    I. Love. This. Board. I demoed this last year and had to buy it for this season, no question. It's super flexible and poppy, without feeling crazy squirelly or unstable. It feels so smooth on landings, kills it in the park and does just fine floating in the powder if you want to take it elsewhere. I rode it with my Union Milans and it was a perfect combination. Can't wait to use her more this season!

Heaps of flexibility, allowing for jumps, landings and all mountain rides. Great in the park and all mountain. Works well on ice and powder. Cannot recommend this board highly enough. My new best friend and worth every cent. Great for intermediate to advanced riders.

Comments about Roxy Ally BTX Snowboard - Women's 2014:

I researched Roxy Ally before buying and honestly could not find that many reviews. So I was little worried, especially that many sites (including Evo) list it as a full rocker. It is NOT a full rocker, but rather rocker between the feet and flat on tip and tail (which adds extra stability on ice). It also has the magnetraction, which helps grip the ice (don't buy a rocker board without it). I was really nicely surprised how stable and forgiving this board was. It is awesome for the intermediate or beginner rider. If you just want to cruse down the mountain, it is perfect. I had variable conditions in Colorado this November - lots of powder than ice. The board is great in powder, but also good on ice. Ditching my old camber board for this one was a great idea. I had lots of fun on Ally and felt that I progressed almost overnight.
