Product Details

Rocker Type

Powder-S CamberRocker from the front foot to the nose and positive camber from the front foot to the tail. The result is the perfect camber for directional powder riding. It offers a ton of float in the nose and a ton of power in the tail.

Flex Rating: 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)A stiff flex for powerful turns and lightning quick response

Directional TwinGood for those who ride all-mountain, from groomers to park

AirPop Core MatrixHeavy on the non-heavy side of the spectrum (it's superlight) with five zonal regions of low density wood mixed with poplar for high energy transmission and a responsive reaction

StraightTriax30The laminate that covers all the bases—from the park to all mountain peaks, the 30-degree off-axis fibers set the personality of the board to flex into low speed butters and pop into high speed takeoffs. Provides some extra kick in a slash and maintains your style while getting creative on and off the trails.

Kevlar Impact PlatesThe sweet spot is under the bindings. With all that abuse, the Kevlar in these plates protects your top sheet and transforms chatter, torque and compression into concentrated pop.

PowerBars: Carbon VMore power, more energy and more carbonation. Pre-formed bands of lightweight carbon guarantee pop in powder.

PressurePop Tech: Kevlar VFound in Rome's high-end boards with fast power transfer from the bindings to your contact points with the snow, this a lethal combination of ultralight material and highly responsive snap.

SinterSpeed BaseBomb hills and straight-line runs. By absorbing the most wax a base can handle, this ultra porous sintered technology creates a board with maximum speed output, and minimal input.

Comments about Rome Whiteroom Splitboard 2013:

I bought the 162 last year and have toured & rode it many days stoked every time. The design is ideal for pow but charges in all conditions. Holds an edge on hardpack and is snappy off the lip.

It's flyweight is appreciated on those long tours and it's durability has been impressive. Base could be harder but multiple core shots to the edge show it's solid construction.

I purchased the 165 just for a little more width & float on deeep days. Best price. Best weight. Best board.

Comments about Rome Whiteroom Splitboard 2013:

Good powder board maybe a little soft but I think I like that for powder anyway. A little concerned about the durability but time will tell and you can't beat the price. So I'll just opt to take care of it and not run it over rocks in thin conditions.
