Rome The Whiteroom Splitboard 2013

If you love powder and hate lift lines, then you already have two things in common with the Rome The Whiteroom Splitboard. Rocker up front to keep you floating on the pow pow and camber in the back to give you the needed power for big slashes and huge airs, The Whiteroom is your ticket to surfing the fluff, away from the crowds.
Rocker Type
Powder-S Camber - Rocker from the front foot to the nose and camber from the front foot to the tail allows for perfect powder riding. A ton of float in the nose and a ton of power in the tail for responsive riding.

Shape
Directional - Designed for set-back stances, with more board in the front of your front foot than in the back of your rear foot, to optimize fast and powerful down-mountain riding.
Core
AirPop Core Matrix - Five regions of super-light low-density wood integrated with poplar throughout the core for an extra responsive feel

Laminates
Kevlar Impact Plates - The highest level of strength and protection from core damage
StraightTriax30 - The laminate that covers all the bases, from the park to all-mountain peaks, the 30 degree off-axis fibers set the personality of the board to flex into low speed butters and pop into high speed takeoffs. It provides some extra kick in a slash and maintains your style while getting creative on and off the trails.

PowerBars: Carbon V - More power, more energy, and more carbonation. Pre-formed bands of lightweight carbon add responsiveness and guarantee pop in powder.
Base
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
SinterSpeed Base - Ultra porous high-end sintered compound absorbs large amounts of wax to maintain high speeds while straight-lining jumps and bombing through powder.

  • Terrain: Powder, Splitboarding
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
    Splitboarding
A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.

  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
