Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2014

Rome Shop all Rome
The Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard is the board that can do anything from straight-lining to park riding. The FreePop Rocker technology extends the flat camber section 5 cm wider than the insert packs giving powerful response and a stable landing platform for jumps in and around the park as well as a stable base for all-mountain riding. The rocker in the nose and tail give a playful feel that allows for effortless powder line slashes and locked-in rail tricks. Just when you thought a board couldn't get any better Rome gives the Mod Rocker a SinterCarbon Base that is highly porous and absorbs wax so effectively that you get a lightning fast ride for maximum gap-clearing speed.
Rocker Type
FreePop Rocker - A flat camber-and-rocker combo where the flat camber section extends 5 cm wider than the inserts. The extended flat section gives more versatile response and allows for edge control and smooth landings, while the rocker in the nose and tail give float in powder and smooth style on rails.
Flex Rating: 8 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A powerful flex for all-mountain riding
True Twin - Everything from the center of the board out towards the nose and tail is exactly the same. Perfect for riding switch
QuickRip Sidecut - Advanced sidecut geometry gives a short, playful feel at slower speeds and a longer, faster and more stable feel at higher speeds. The mid-board contact points end the running length at slow speeds and add grip at high speeds.
AirPop Core Matrix - Five regions of super-light low-density wood integrated with poplar throughout the core for an extra responsive feel
HotRods: Carbon Double Barrel - Two parallel carbon rods are milled into the core on both ends from the inserts to the contact points designed to give rocker boards double the snap and pop.
SuperlightBiax Laminate - This super light biax pattern is designed to keep the torsional flex smooth to balance out the power boost from the carbon HotRods.
Kevlar Impact Plates - The highest level of strength and protection from core damage
SinterCarbon Base - Carbon additives reduce friction to make the base as fast as possible. Highly porous sintered structure absorbs wax for a baseline of maximum speed.
Binding Compatibility
Rome Snowboards will accommodate 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
