Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012: A rocker riot at its best, the Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard takes you from top to bottom, park to pow, with all the power and pop you can get your hands on. The Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard features Carbon Double Barrel Hot Rods and FreePop Rocker Camber for legit ollie pop in the nose and tail but with control and stability for jumps and landings.
Flex
A high flex is going to give you more pop than you could ever ask for. All-mountain for a reason, the poppy flex allows you to go from 2 foot days through the corduroys to roping ollies and back to the pop with ease.
Construction and Core
Airpop Core matrix is an advanced wood core that has five zones of low-density wood that max out the light factor and Poplar wood that provides high energy return to help power the responsive feel of the board.
SuperLightBiax Laminate has a lightweight 90 degree matrix that balances out the super poppy HotRods to create a feel that is dynamic and also mellow for freestyle finesse.
Carbon Double Barrel Hot Rods have rods of carbon milled into the core for higher ollies and nollies.
Shape
FreePop Rocker Camber has a longer flat mid-section extending outside your bindings and then rocker from there out to the contact points. The rocker allows the board to feel buttery and float in power but the extended flat camber section improves ollie pop, edge control and stability for jumps.
QuickRip Sidecut technology is a unique sidecut geometry that lets the board ride loose and playful at slow speeds and powerful and precise at higher speeds. QuickRip lets a board “ride short” at slow speeds by engaging the mid-section sidecut between the mid-board contact points and lets you “ride long” at high speeds by engaging the full running-length sidecut where the mid-board contact points work to improve edge hold.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Sinter Carbon base have carbon nano-additives that work with hard, highly porous sintered structure to crank up your speedabilty.
Impact Edges give greater defense against unintentional rocks or intentional hits of rails in the park

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012:

Im an intermediate all around mtn terrain, with a beginner park dude. I was looking for something that has mobility and response. It handles well through steeps, moguls, and off pist terrains. I have taken it on a few jumps and the landings are like butter. Now time for some Rome Targa bindings to match this board for the really tight and whindy tree hugging terrains, where branch's are wanting to grab you at every turn.

I do have one negative review though. It does scratch, ding and get damaged easy. So, if your OCD about new products staying new, keep it in its original packaging.

I would rate this a 4.5/5 stars. I still chose 5, because dings will happen.

Really excellent park deck. Pops like no one's business. Only downside was it's a bit sketch mobbing through resort chunder at high speeds. Other than that, this is one of the best park boards around. A must have for the quiver!

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012:

They were not joking about the pop....it's def there. Bought the board for kickers (coming off an Artifact). It handles them well although my home mountain maxes out in the 40ft range. The true test will come next year at Loon, NH. If you plan to ride rails, the board needs to be de-tuned big time. I hung up several times, the worst of which was a front board on a tall box. I got tossed right over the falls.

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012:

This board is lightweight, versatile, and FUN. Bites the ice and holds you in place on Double Blacks at Killington, floats over fluffy stuff at Snowbird, and takes you through the park with ease. Its artwork trumps the bland designs I've seen on most other boards with similar rocker/camber builds. On the downside, it gets a little wiggy at very high speeds. Overall a great board that I'd recommend if you're looking to upgrade from a basic/beginner stick. Can't speak on how it compares to other non-beginner boards though.

This is a great board. I got it after I broke my first board. It has a lot of pop but surprisingly stable at high speed. I took the board and raced down a groomed trail and it was fantastic. I haven't had a chance to use it in powder yet but I would imagine this will be just as good.

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012:

Great Board, with loads of pop for that extra kick off the kicker, tree, cliff, etc. Extremely stiff board meant for slamming into any situation with no regrets. I would avoid rails unless your more flexible and balanced than a dancer since the board wont reshape and hold on to any rails or boxes, but the flat zone between the feet does allow you to enjoy the occasional rail/box jib. Sick ride that can be abused and thrown over 40's, Boulders, trees and roots. Tail presses convert into moonblasts due to the carbon fiber rail tech in the nose and tail. fun in pow and can hold an alright edge in groomers. True Twin is excellent for practicing your switch. Shorter shape allows for easy spinning. Reverse Camber, if your into that, is very light between the feet and extreme right after the bindings, makes for a more catchy than usual rail between the bindings and nonexistent grip on the nose or tail regions. A very fun board and great for the rider looking for a board he/she can ride off a cliff and expect it to land in one piece. Powder friendly; power friendly; avoid if your a lovely buttery park board jib master.

A fun all around board. Take some time to get used to, can't feel the edge at the beginning (and this was not my first rocker board). tons of pop for jumps and pipe. The softness between the bindings helps jibbing a lot. it's fast enough for freeriding, however as a freestyle board, do not expect it to be very fast.

I use the board for all mountain freeriding and freestyle. I love to tear down and carve hills but like to hit up the park as well. The board is solid on icy conditions as well considering it is not a traditional camber. It has a lot of pop, easy to launch jumps without too much effort. Great for nose and tail presses on rails and boxes. If you are like like and like to shred to whole mountain then this is the board for you. It is moderatly stiff so if you expect a noodle don't get it. Bottom line is get the board you won't be dissapointed. I got the 153 and am 5'5" about 160lbs smooth ride every time.

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2012:

I demoed a few other rocker boards before buying the rome mod rocker 156 online. I was a little nervous about ordering a board I had never rode but the flex and rockered edges on this board are awesome. The first few weeks I was riding mostly groomers and having a blast with all the pop and flex and when we finally got powder it just cruises on top. My first Rome board and I'll probably stick with them for a while now.

This board was a steal. I can use this board on the east coast or mountains. It is quick and easy to maneuver. The board is super lightweight and has plenty of pop to do just about any trick. The flexibility is also wonderful. I would recommend this board to anyone with hopes of advancing from a intermediate to advanced board.

Wow I never write reviews but this board earned it!! This board make the gnu pickle feel like a Walmart Lamar board.... I ride big bear 3days a week icy, slushy, and every time in between... Spinning on the pickle sucks because when they salt the lip there no edge on the pickle so you just go flying off the lip or over rotate on landing cause no edge hold...the Rome I stick any spin everything have no issues hitting any rail at bear and the best part is its buttery but with a perfect feeling of stability but I am still yet to catch an edge....like I said I don't write reviews for anything but other reviews is what made me buy this board so I hope this helps anyone else looking

I teach snowboarding/guide full time in AK, ride backcountry a lot and do some comps and will be using this board for all of the above. The flex is not too stiff to butter and not too soft for charging through chop - the hotrods make this possible. The profile is perfect, you can actually carve this board pretty well, and the quick rip sidecut holds an edge even on ice (i just raced on it yesterday for our locals league). Best board ive ridden.

I've been riding for 14+ years, first in Colorado no in Tahoe. I've ridden Burton, K2, GNU, Atomic...None however come close to the Rome Mod Rocker. I used to only ride park, and so all my gear was made for that type of riding. I wanted this board to kill the whole mountain. That's what it does, slays everything! The carbon hot rods are no joke! This thing has more pop then I ever imagined a board can have.

This is my first board with rocker in tip and tail and I am loving it! Cruising groomers, poppin in the park, and all out charging is what this board does best. I bought this in September and have not had the chance to ride pow yet but the board is telling me it will rip into pillow lines as well.

I love this board, it is awesome! Great park board, still early season and I haven't used it on the hills yet. Good for rails and decent sized kickers. Its a lot of fun and a good all around board! Haven't seen anything bad about it yet rides great and is awesome!
