Comments about Rome MiniShred Rocker Snowboard - Youth 2013:

I have been looking for new board for my 5 year old son something he can grow with, picked this up in 110cm. He has been riding a traditional camber World Industries 98cm board for the last 2 seasons and always is cathing his edge with any speed. I picked this board up for under $ 100.00 after reasearcing and pricing a bunch of kids boards, i was looking for a convex base and rocker to minimize my little ones edge catches. I have always liked rome products and this was a good price for all the tech in it without going to a burton. The board is very soft and I look foward to trying it out with my son this winter.

Comments about Rome MiniShred Rocker Snowboard - Youth 2013:

Bought the 90cm for my 3 year old. he is just shy of 40" and 38 lbs. Perfect size for him. It's lightweight and easy for him to carry. Mounted some Ride Micro bindings to the board which fit perfect. The rocker on the board is very forgiving and makes edge catches less frequent even for a beginner.

Comments about Rome MiniShred Rocker Snowboard - Youth 2013:

I bought a 90cm and 100cm for my 5 and 6 yr old boys. This was their first time snowboarding and after the first day we were hitting the lifts and making runs down the mountain. I love that they don't catch a ton of edges. They are light weight so that my kids can carry them themselves. I also bought the rome minshred bindings to go with the boards and they are great and very adjustable to fit little feet!! For a first board these are awesome, I love the rocker and best of all my boys had wonderful experiences and want to continue boarding or shredding!!!!

I got this unit based on price and size. I seems to fit my smaller 5 year old very well and was light enough that he could jump around without getting too tired. It is a bit on the stiffer side, but that is to be expected from such a small stick.

Comments about Rome MiniShred Rocker Snowboard - Youth 2013:

I bought this board for my kids who were using some old K2 and Burton boards we picked up at a garage sale for the last 2 years. Them learning on the stiff boards was really challenging and they were not progressing. Turning was very tiring for small (kids 3 and 5y.o) kids trying to maintain their edge so I think that it held them back a lot. We have been stuck on the bunny hill forever. They were catching edges a lot and the falls were really painful for them.

Once we got the Rome board their skills took a fast an giant leap forward. This ROME board is really nice and flexible. My kids took to it right away and began turning all over the hill at will. We started being able to go up the lift and make our way down greens and blues handily. The amount of falling has been much less frequent and the falls have not been so hard.

This ROME board is not as flexible as the Burton chicklet that we also picked up a couple weeks later.

Overall this is a fantastic board and really allows the wee ones to hone their skills. It would be a great board for early learners since they don't catch the edges as they did with their stiff old boards.

This board is stiff enough that they can progress from intermediate to more advanced boarding. I would say the chicklet would be a better board for someone just starting out their first few times though.... it is much softer.

We paired our boards with some Flow bindings and both kids can now get in and out on their own although they fall down getting in and out... they can do it on their own and they love it.
