Rome Lo-Fi Rocker Snowboard - Women's 2012

Love to goof around in the park, butter your board, and land happy and smooth? Also like to take that same board beyond the park for some speed and all-mountain fun? The Rome Lo-Fi Snowboard, with the FreePop Rocker and PressurePop Technology, is built to do this all and more. Grab the lo-fi and get down for a good time.
Rocker Type
FreePop Rocker Camber - A longer flat mid-section extending outside your bindings and then rocker from there out to the contact points. The rocker allows the board to feel buttery and float in powder, but the extended flat camber section improves ollie pop, edge control and stability for jumps.
Flex
Medium - For a lady looking to push the boundaries of riding possibilities from the park through to the rest of the mountain
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
SinterTrue base has fundamental sintered performance that is abrasion resistant with major wax absorption for a speedy ride.
Core
Superpop Core Matrix - A super lightweight matrix of poppy wood for a dynamic, lively feel.
PressurePop Basalt V Technology - An eco-friendly tech that is light and strong to maximize torsional snap for edge-to-edge quickness and power. V shape extends outward from the rider foot to the edges at the contact points increasing both longitudinal response and energy release from edge to edge.
Laminates
StraightBiax - The glass configuration that steers the board and is torsionally forgiving to keep a super playful feel.
Base
SinterTrue Base - Fundamental sintered performance provides abrasion resistance with wax absorption equals all the speed you need.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

I got this board new this last season after using my first ever beginner board for 4 years. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the change. I have improved so much this season and it is because of the board. It is very forgiving and so stable, it gave me so much more confidence to push myself to do things I wouldn't have tried with my old board. The best part about it is, because we ride at Baker in the Northwest we see a lot of deep powder, and this board just made it feel like carving through butter...like floating on a cloud. I can't speak to it's ability at the park but I rode in all conditions this year and no matter what I put it on it rocked. I LOVE IT!

            Comments about Rome Lo-Fi Rocker Snowboard - Women's 2012:

I used this board on a ridiculous 60CM pow day at whistler.... and i almost died in all the pow. I wish this board was a bit longer/ faster/ harder riding -- but that's probably definitely also my skill level holding me back. Good fun board to jump around on, play with in the park and i look fwd to progressing on it!

I love the board, the only negative thing I can say about it is is doesn't always carve so easily because the edges don't grab harder packed snow.

I really really like this board! Its very fun and responsive! The only thing I do not like is in super early fall Colorado conditions its a little harder to keep my edge. It isn't bad you just have to work a little bit more in icy spots. Its a great board but a little more advanced then I'm used to so far. Cant wait for an awesome season!
