Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012

Pop rocks and quick rips for all! The Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard features the best of Rome technology that will take you near and far on the mountain with a freestyle focus. The FreePop Rocker Camber has an extended camber section for improved stability and power in the park, but is enhanced with rocker in the tip and tail for fun on the rest of the mountain. Kill the local fun box and still float in the pow with the Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard.
Rocker Type
FreePop Rocker Camber - A longer flat mid-section extending outside your bindings and then rocker from there out to the contact points. The rocker allows the board to feel buttery and float in powder, but the extended flat camber section improves ollie pop, edge control and stability for jumps.
Flex
Medium to Soft - Makes for one buttery ride; the Rome Garage Rocker is the perfect blend of park playfulness and down-mountain performance
Sidecut
QuickRip Sidecut - A unique sidecut geometry that lets the board ride loose and playful at slow speeds and powerful and precise at higher speeds. QuickRip lets a board “ride short” at slow speeds by engaging the mid-section sidecut between the mid-board contact points and lets you “ride long” at high speeds by engaging the full running-length sidecut where the mid-board contact points work to improve edge hold.
Core
TTT Core Matrix - Has a distinctive “pop” of wood from tip to tail that feels super dynamic under foot.
Glass Reverse V Stringer Technology - Glass stringers that connect the binding region to the centerline of the nose and tail for more freestyle pop without any freeride torque.
Laminates
StraightBiax - The glass configuration that steers the board and is torsionally forgiving to keep a super playful feel.
Base
XTRD Base - Has a high 1.45 abrasion resistance making it durable, easy-to-repair and super-fast.

I took this board out 3 days after I got t and I loved it. It was a big step up from my old board (salomon) which was an all mountain board. This is my second board ever and I have been snowboarding for 4 years now. This board has the perfect balance of flexibility and responsiveness. The best uses for this board are definitely jumps, boxes, and rails. I have just gotten into the bigger rails this year and I think this board will be perfect for my set of skills for the next couple of years. The only downside was I did get a few scuffs and dings in my board not because of riding wear and tear, but because the tow ropes here have a lot of kids that tend to run into you getting on the tow rope. Overall this is a perfect board for anyone getting into jibs or someone who's had experience with jibs such as myself.

Pretty good board. Got a great deal on it that I couldn't pass up and it has done well overall. Not great in powder, but alright if you have enough speed. Been good in the park. Has great flexibility, great for learning how to butter. However, has lots of scratches and chips on the all over already this year. Overall a solid beginner/intermidiate board.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

Great board! Love taking it down the mountain. Lots of flex in the tips, stable and stiff in the middle. Easy to initiate turns yet stays nice and stable at speed. Bought this as my first board and I feel my ability won't outgrow it for another 2 years.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

FIrst off, I'm a newbie (2 seasons). Mostly ridden on an old camber board, this board and most recently a lib tech.
      Board length: 154
      Bindings: Flux RK30
      Boots: Ride deuce
      Height: 5' 6"
      Weight: 125
I don't have the experience to comment on the tech upgrades from this board from the older model camber board, but it was much more forgiving than the camber board; it felt like I didn't "catch" edges as much when carving. This board is considered a rocker board, but it's more flat than anything else (comparison based on lib tech board).
I also found that it was not as stable at higher speeds when going straight, board felt wobbly, but that may also be because I was riding a 154 and I weigh 125. Compared to the lib tech at higher speeds while taking turns/sliding it was much more responsive and had more grip.
The few "jumps" and boxes I attempted were all on this board and as far as I can tell, the board feels ok.
At my current level, I feel I would not recommend this board to a newbie. After riding a board that was significantly more "rocker" I would recommend getting a rocker board. I feel like more experienced riders would get the most out of this board.

This is my first season riding and my first personal board. I rode a few of my friends boards and they were all too stiff and didnt give me the stability I needed. The Rome is much more stable as well as easy to maneuver. As park riding goes I've done a few jumps, nothing too big but it felt awesome. Great board though

This is by far the best snowboard I've ever had! It handles park very well and even exceeded my expectations riding bowls! I would like a little more flex for it being a park board, but I can look past that due to the fact that that is the only con. The graphics on top of the board do peel around the edges though. Nothing to serious, I love this board! After getting this, I'll definitely be a Rome SDS customer for life!

This is my second board, coming from a cheap Morrow board i didn't know what to expect. i was shocked. comming from a board with zero flex i was amazed how much flex a board could have. oping up or ollies were super easy. if this board is just for down hill riding i might suggest a more stable board, but if your doing shenanigans and park riding i highly recommend this board; especially at evo's cheap prices. FYI: my biggest complaint/issue with this board is that it gets scratches and chips very easily.

Really flexible. Lots of good pop off jumps. Nice gripping on rails. Handled nice in deep powder too. Love the board, but it just dings too easliy. Both side are peeling off.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

Super fun, flexy, buttery board. Perfect for jibbing and freestyling around the mountain. The garage rocker does come the the 2 deg park edge, which makes it almost impossible to catch an edge. Yay. Because of this though, it's a lil bit sketchy cruising the groomers at higher speeds.

Throw some Rome Targa's (what I ride) or 390's on it and you got yourself a perfect park setup.
