Product Info

Pop rocks and quick rips for all! The Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard features the best of Rome technology that will take you near and far on the mountain with a freestyle focus. The FreePop Rocker Camber has an extended camber section for improved stability and power in the park, but is enhanced with rocker in the tip and tail for fun on the rest of the mountain. Kill the local fun box and still float in the pow with the Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard.

Product Details

Rocker Type

FreePop Rocker CamberA longer flat mid-section extending outside your bindings and then rocker from there out to the contact points. The rocker allows the board to feel buttery and float in powder, but the extended flat camber section improves ollie pop, edge control and stability for jumps.

Flex

Medium to SoftMakes for one buttery ride; the Rome Garage Rocker is the perfect blend of park playfulness and down-mountain performance

Sidecut

QuickRip SidecutA unique sidecut geometry that lets the board ride loose and playful at slow speeds and powerful and precise at higher speeds. QuickRip lets a board “ride short” at slow speeds by engaging the mid-section sidecut between the mid-board contact points and lets you “ride long” at high speeds by engaging the full running-length sidecut where the mid-board contact points work to improve edge hold.

Core

TTT Core MatrixHas a distinctive “pop” of wood from tip to tail that feels super dynamic under foot.

Glass Reverse V Stringer TechnologyGlass stringers that connect the binding region to the centerline of the nose and tail for more freestyle pop without any freeride torque.

Laminates

StraightBiaxThe glass configuration that steers the board and is torsionally forgiving to keep a super playful feel.

Base

XTRD BaseHas a high 1.45 abrasion resistance making it durable, easy-to-repair and super-fast.

I took this board out 3 days after I got t and I loved it. It was a big step up from my old board (salomon) which was an all mountain board. This is my second board ever and I have been snowboarding for 4 years now. This board has the perfect balance of flexibility and responsiveness. The best uses for this board are definitely jumps, boxes, and rails. I have just gotten into the bigger rails this year and I think this board will be perfect for my set of skills for the next couple of years. The only downside was I did get a few scuffs and dings in my board not because of riding wear and tear, but because the tow ropes here have a lot of kids that tend to run into you getting on the tow rope. Overall this is a perfect board for anyone getting into jibs or someone who's had experience with jibs such as myself.

Pretty good board. Got a great deal on it that I couldn't pass up and it has done well overall. Not great in powder, but alright if you have enough speed. Been good in the park. Has great flexibility, great for learning how to butter. However, has lots of scratches and chips on the all over already this year. Overall a solid beginner/intermidiate board.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

This board is amazing! I learned 3 or 4 new flip tricks/spins on this thing last year! From Rodeos to Tamedogs, Misty flips and Corked 7s. My only issue was that when I tried to clear a 55ft jump at 7 Springs Resort,I almost blew out my knees because the board was a tad too slow, which caused my to make love to the knuckle. This is mainly due to the extruded base, which is notably slower than the sintered base on my Capita Stairmaster extreme. If I could get this board with a sintered base i'd never by another board. Oh yeah,if you wanna learn how to butter and spin presses, this is the board to learn on! Hands Down!

Great board! Love taking it down the mountain. Lots of flex in the tips, stable and stiff in the middle. Easy to initiate turns yet stays nice and stable at speed. Bought this as my first board and I feel my ability won't outgrow it for another 2 years.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

FIrst off, I'm a newbie (2 seasons). Mostly ridden on an old camber board, this board and most recently a lib tech.
      Board length: 154
      Bindings: Flux RK30
      Boots: Ride deuce
      Height: 5' 6"
      Weight: 125
I don't have the experience to comment on the tech upgrades from this board from the older model camber board, but it was much more forgiving than the camber board; it felt like I didn't "catch" edges as much when carving. This board is considered a rocker board, but it's more flat than anything else (comparison based on lib tech board).
I also found that it was not as stable at higher speeds when going straight, board felt wobbly, but that may also be because I was riding a 154 and I weigh 125. Compared to the lib tech at higher speeds while taking turns/sliding it was much more responsive and had more grip.
The few "jumps" and boxes I attempted were all on this board and as far as I can tell, the board feels ok.
At my current level, I feel I would not recommend this board to a newbie. After riding a board that was significantly more "rocker" I would recommend getting a rocker board. I feel like more experienced riders would get the most out of this board.

This is my first season riding and my first personal board. I rode a few of my friends boards and they were all too stiff and didnt give me the stability I needed. The Rome is much more stable as well as easy to maneuver. As park riding goes I've done a few jumps, nothing too big but it felt awesome. Great board though

Awesome board. I have thrashed it for over 30 solid days on icy rocky Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand. I am 275lbs 6ft2 and ride the 160 Wide. I tell you now that even with my weight this board bombs hills like nobodys business yet is still soft enough to easily butter and press all over the hill. I have cracked the sidewalls in about 4 or 5 places and smashed the topsheet up. Base has been repaired countless times, edges are getting thin and I have had some delam which i had repaired. Yet the board is still going strong. I love it so much that I just bought the 2013 model (on clearance) to replace this one when it finally dies.

Comments about Rome Garage Rocker Snowboard 2012:

For an intermediate-advanced rider such as myself, it's common to have multiple boards in the quiver. One for pow, one for park and an all-mountain.

When travelling to other places for strictly "pleasure" I'm always concerned about damage to my higher end equipment, but at the same time I'll never put the pure joy of riding in jeopardy by using a board that can't measure up.

I demo'd this board a couple years back and while it wasn't "the one" back then, it definitely made an impression and I personally place great emphasis on "value" when buying equipment for sports I know I'll always be a part of.

True- you can pick up a great board in the off-season for 30-40% off, which is killer, but imho this is a less-expensive board that performs as well as others $100+ more in the same category.

For the price these go for today, I knew I'd regret not picking one up and when my all-mountain takes its' last breath there's no doubt in my mind that I can slap my bindings on this stick and go back to business as usual.

Graphics are always a personal preference, but I also prefer the '12 model to the '13's as well.

This is a great board for the price. I needed a new board at the end of the season as my other board got destroyed by rocks and EVO hooked it up:) definitely a great buy! Lot's of pop and a playful board.

I bought it so wouldn't have to keep renting a snowboard every time I went to the slopes. I go around 4 times a season just to have fun with my friends. I am not that advanced into all the flips and stuff but I do go down the terrain parks. I think this board first off looks great top and bottom. I have gotten many compliments. It also rides really nice and has a very sharp edge. I would like to mention the couple dings it has gotten on the top paint after a season. I did also see some mild rusting bit after I oiled it, it was fine.

I BOUGHT THIS BOARD FOR MY SON. HE HASN'T SEEN OR USED IT AS WE ARE NOT IN WINTER AT THIS TIME. I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE PERFERRED THE ARTIFACT BUT IT WAS SOLD OUT AT THE TIME OF THE SALE. THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT WOULD BE A GREAT LITTLE BOARD TO HIT THE PARK WITH SO I PIRED IT UP WITH SOME UNION BINDINGS AND ALL READY FOR NEXT CHIRSTMAS. FOR THE PRICE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG IF YOU GET TWO SEASONS OUT OF IT YOU GOT A GREAT STEAL. THX EVO

I go snowboarding a few times every winter but I only used the garage rocker just once so far, but I loved it. It is a quality board that is good all around not just in the park. It is also a good bargain and saved me a ton of cash! Definitely worth checking out :)

I work at timberline lodge as a lifty, i am riding in every type of snow condition from glacier ice to mash potato slush. this board is killer for a first rocker board feels similiar to a skateboard when you get the pop down. fun in powder too lay down some deep carves, and hi speed it has good long end contact points, butter wise i find myself looping out when i really press it. you will LOVE this board!. and the price is impossible to beat

I bought this board two months ago and it's really good for the price
It took awhile to tune it in and you have to really work to dull the edges but it's a great board for jumps and rail not to flexy but definitely not stiff I had an older model and at the end it was crazy flexy and took alot of beatings I could still flip it even after i snapped it in half

I started snowboarding with this board and i have to say it is the best experience i have had. Even my friends who have snowboarded for years and have expensive boards love this board. Considering its price, the performance is is superb. Unless your a pro, there is no reason this board should not be recommended.
The only reason i did not check mark speed for best uses is because i keep my board size reasonable for its very easy to move. I'm sure with a bigger size speed could be check-marked.
