Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012

Built to dominate handrails, jib lines, and anything else in the park; the Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard features the JibPop Rocker Camber that is flat in the mid-section and rockered from the feet out for the perfect amount of balance and fun on presses. Plus Glass HotRods technology increases the kick in your ollie and nollie power.
Rocker Type
JibPop Rocker Camber - Loose, playful and super press-happy. Flat and stable in the mid-section with rocker from underfoot to the nose and tail to optimize press tricks.
Flex
Buttery and Soft
Sidecut
QuickRip Sidecut - A unique sidecut geometry that lets the board ride loose and playful at slow speeds and powerful and precise at higher speeds. QuickRip lets a board “ride short” at slow speeds by engaging the mid-section sidecut between the mid-board contact points and lets you “ride long” at high speeds by engaging the full running-length sidecut where the mid-board contact points work to improve edge hold.
Core
Impact Core Matrix - A composite core impregnated with 40% wood fibers that flexes smoothly, stands up to abuse and leaves light impact on the environment.
Glass Single Barrel HotRods - Places a rod of fiberglass in the centerline of the nose and tail for higher ollies and nollies. The single barrel increases longitudinal kick without altering the flex profile.
Laminates
Straight Biax Laminate - A glass configuration that steers the board and is torsionally forgiving to keep a super playful feel.
Base
Impact Base - An advanced extruded compound that fights against the abuse of rails, boxes and rocks.
Glass Impact Plates™ - 2x more compression resistant under the binding to combat the abuse of landing on hard objects.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012:

Nice to ride this board, buttering on it is easy and fun, a lot of pup for your Ollie. Turn initiation is awesome, excellent in switch ride. Highly recommend this board for beginner rider, it's soft and forgiving. I was looking for soft board with good pop, and Rome Artifact rocker is great, I'm fully satisfied with it.
It's also can ride some powder.
    EVO.com was quick with delivery.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012:

Really great board, this is my second rome board, the first being a machine. Before purchasing the the artifact I was worried about carving, not having enough pop and possibly washing out if landing on the tail. None of these wound up being an issue at all. The edge still holds great, it still has plenty of power to pop off lips and onto rails, ad landing on the tail or nose proved to be a non issue. I would definitely recommend this board to anyone looking for a more playing for board for buttering and presses and a great board for all day park laps

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012:

Really flexible, so if you like a stiffer board this isn't for you. In person, the blueish is like a turquios. but I love the board, I like the colors, flex, and really can't complain. It's a jib-rocker so it locks on to rails easily. great terrain board

great board... very flexy, but stiff enough to really get that pop you need. easy to nail jibs and lock on rails. easy board to whip around and have some fun with. only con is the fact it is easy to ding. other than that, perfect board to throw around in the park and on the mountain. id recommend to anyone.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012:

I love this board. Got it because I was looking for a lighter board with some pop and it meets the bill perfectly.

I'm 6', 175lbs and the 155 fits me perfectly. I was actually a little surprised by the size of the 155; I was expecting something shorter. I have a 159cm Flow Merc and they look to be about the same size. Not sure what the deal is there, but no complaints.

I haven't had it long enough to have an opinion on the easy-dinging issue, but (fingers crossed) so far no issues.

This board is amazing. My last board was a rossignol onemagtek which I love, but this board is just so much fun with the flexibility. Lots of pop and super fast! Im 5'11" 170lb. I got the 152 wide. Feels prefect for park riding and just messing around on. So far my favorite board. Can't wait for next season.

This board is great. It's my second board from Rome SDS and it's my first with rocker. This deck makes the transition from camber to rocker seemless. It's very light and is great in the park. The first time I took it out we just got 20" of powder and it was flawless. I'm a snowboard instructor and would recommend this deck to anyone I work with.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Wide Snowboard 2012:

If you're looking for a park board, this is a great board to have. It is very soft and flexible. Not only that but it locks onto rails and boxes easily! I was skeptical about it's softness and ability to ride the rest of the mountain, but I didn't have a problem riding on it. My main concern that the topsheet of the board dings VERY easily. A small chip on the top edge in between my bindings chipped off, which made me sad considering I only took it out once. But at the end of the day, every board will eventually get dinged and scratched from wear and tear so it is not that big of a problem. Hopefully this board lasts a long time! Definitely get this board!
