Product Info

The Rome Artifact Rocker is the platinum record of urban jib-sticks. The Artifact is designed to withstand abuse from rails and cement ledges with glass impact plates that increase strength from core compressions. Urban riding has never been more fun with the Artifact's JibPop Rocker Technology featuring a wider rocker section for pressy fun and a shorter flat section in between the inserts for added balance giving that locked-in feel on rails and boxes.

Product Details

Rocker Type

JibPop RockerA flat camber-and-rocker combo with the flat camber section being 2 cm narrower than the inserts so you get the rocker feeling under your feet. Having rocker underfoot and in the nose and tail give a super-loose feel for easy pressing and maximum float in the powder, while the flat section between the feet offers a solid platform for balance on rails.

Flex

Flex Rating: 1 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)A soft flex for buttery maneuvering.

Shape

True TwinEverything from the center of the board out towards the nose and tail is exactly the same. Perfect for riding switch

Sidecut

QuickRip SidecutAdvanced sidecut geometry gives a short, playful feel at slower speeds and a longer, faster and more stable feel at higher speeds. The mid-board contact points end the running length at slow speeds and add grip at high speeds.

Core

HotRods: Glass Single BarrelA thin glass rod is milled into the centerline of the board under the bindings and out towards the nose and tail, which provides more pop, without adding any unwanted stiffness.

Impact Core Matrix40% Wood fiber material in a composite, which extends the durability of the core for a smooth flex that is environmentally conscious.

Laminates

StraightBiax Basalt LaminateBasalt fibers add pop and strength, and are environmentally friendly. The biaxial pattern gives a buttery, park-oriented feel.

Glass Impact PlatesThin reinforcements beneath your bindings to increase strength against core compression caused by bindings

Base

Impact BaseConstructed of the strongest abrasion-resistant compound, this advanced base technology will hold up through a full season of taking a beating from rails, rocks, and trees.

Binding Compatibility

Rome Snowboards will accommodate 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns.

Took this board out to opening day at Chestnut Mountain in Illinois, groomers and wet day. This board was catch less, the style and tricks began to flow. I was extremely happy after riding it on the initial beginner groomer playing around. Took it all over the mountain, I didn't have any issue with speed or chatter keeping me away from sending it. The board is beautiful, really love rome and their finishes / designs but do take notice rome boards often scratch or ding easily. I did have some riders on the lift lay their boards over mine not paying attention and it is pretty noticeable. If your not caring for keeping the board in good shape, then ignore that cosmetic mention above.

Steep inclines, slow runs, quick runs, jibbing and jumps. I love this board, wish it had a little more flex to butter easier but maybe that's just me needing to improve!

I highly highly recommend this board!

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2014:

This is a great board, I have been riding it for about a month and it is everything I want it to be. This is a jib/ park board, it is extremely soft and very easy to throw around. If you are looking for a bomber board, something that is fast and stable at high speeds this is not for you. This board, because how flexible it is, gets pretty wish-washy at high speeds and chatters a lot. But that is because it is not designed for that. If you are looking for something soft that you can do butters, presses and jibs around the mountain and have more of a park tendency this board is the one you are looking for. This isn't a big booter board either stick to the small/ medium sized jumps.

Ive used this all over the mountain! Ive traveled 60.1mph on this board and it was still very stable. I would say this board is best for Jibs, butters and jumps but if your more of a jump guy i would recommend getting the cambered version. I love this board so far and plan on riding it for a long time!

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2014:

I use this board at the local so cal resorts such as Mt High and Big Bear, and it has not let me down yet so far. With its fair price, the Rome Artifact is probably the cheapest and most fun park board one can get in the market. The top sheet might get scratch off easily; but hey, who doesn't get dents here and there on their boards right? Overall, this is a fun and affordable board to ride with.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2014:

All in all a great board. The boards construction isn't the most sturdy and will not provide longevity if you ride it as aggressively as I did. My first one lasted me a season and a half however I loved the board enough to buy another one to replace the first once it was destroyed. Board is super playful and responsive. Has pretty good pop. Doesn't handle to great at speeds over say 40 mph as it chatters hard when applying the brakes, but that is to be expected with such a noodly rocker style board. Board is great for the parks, buttering the mountain and if you don't care to much about keeping it prestine, the glades. The one I received from evo did appear to be slightly defective as it had an odd bevel on the nose that my prior board did not. All In all still Prob my board of choice out of all the ones I own. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is its durability issues.

The best board I've ever ridden by far. There is no other board that comes to mind for the park. It can be a great board to learn on (buttering, popping more, boxes, rails and other jibs) mainly because of the amount of flex and durability. Another great thing about it is that it is very easy to maneuver, while going fast and slow (QuickRip Technology)
The graphic is pretty rad too.

I'm 6'1 and 185 lbs. I wanted a true twin tip board with max flex for grinding in the park. I got the 156. This board is perfect for that purpose.

I ride a lot of park. I had a burton nug. Which is one of Burtons best and this board compares and meets every expectation that I need it to. Very good board!

Awesome board with amazing amount of flex. Great for park riding and jibbing! would definitely recommend this board to anyone looking to have a ton of fun in the park. Only downside is this board is pretty much only useful in the park and on groomed runs

Last year I started getting into jibbing. My other board was on the stiff side. During my research for a jibbing board, the artifact rocker kept pulling up. Saw an offer I couldn't refuse on EVO. If your a jibber or want to get into it, this board will not disappoint. File your edges to an 88 and your gonna be buttering all the way down the mountain, even on some of the more advanced runs.

Super flexible board. Very playful. Good for buttering around small hills. I wouldn't recommend going terrible fast as it starts to chatter at high speeds.
