Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2014

The Rome Artifact Rocker is the platinum record of urban jib-sticks. The Artifact is designed to withstand abuse from rails and cement ledges with glass impact plates that increase strength from core compressions. Urban riding has never been more fun with the Artifact's JibPop Rocker Technology featuring a wider rocker section for pressy fun and a shorter flat section in between the inserts for added balance giving that locked-in feel on rails and boxes.
Rocker Type
JibPop Rocker - A flat camber-and-rocker combo with the flat camber section being 2 cm narrower than the inserts so you get the rocker feeling under your feet. Having rocker underfoot and in the nose and tail give a super-loose feel for easy pressing and maximum float in the powder, while the flat section between the feet offers a solid platform for balance on rails.
Flex Rating: 1 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A soft flex for buttery maneuvering.
True Twin - Everything from the center of the board out towards the nose and tail is exactly the same. Perfect for riding switch
QuickRip Sidecut - Advanced sidecut geometry gives a short, playful feel at slower speeds and a longer, faster and more stable feel at higher speeds. The mid-board contact points end the running length at slow speeds and add grip at high speeds.
HotRods: Glass Single Barrel - A thin glass rod is milled into the centerline of the board under the bindings and out towards the nose and tail, which provides more pop, without adding any unwanted stiffness.
Impact Core Matrix - 40% Wood fiber material in a composite, which extends the durability of the core for a smooth flex that is environmentally conscious.
StraightBiax Basalt Laminate - Basalt fibers add pop and strength, and are environmentally friendly. The biaxial pattern gives a buttery, park-oriented feel.
Glass Impact Plates - Thin reinforcements beneath your bindings to increase strength against core compression caused by bindings
Impact Base - Constructed of the strongest abrasion-resistant compound, this advanced base technology will hold up through a full season of taking a beating from rails, rocks, and trees.
Binding Compatibility
Rome Snowboards will accommodate 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns.

  • Terrain: Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
