Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2012

Built to dominate handrails, jib lines, and anything else in the park; the Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard features the JibPop Rocker Camber that is flat in the mid-section and rockered from the feet out for the perfect amount of balance and fun on presses. Plus Glass HotRods technology increases the kick in your ollie and nollie power.
Rocker Type
JibPop Rocker Camber - Loose, playful and super press-happy. Flat and stable in the mid-section with rocker from underfoot to the nose and tail to optimize press tricks.
Flex
Buttery and soft
Sidecut
QuickRip Sidecut - A unique sidecut geometry that lets the board ride loose and playful at slow speeds and powerful and precise at higher speeds. QuickRip lets a board “ride short” at slow speeds by engaging the mid-section sidecut between the mid-board contact points and lets you “ride long” at high speeds by engaging the full running-length sidecut where the mid-board contact points work to improve edge hold.
Core
Glass Single Barrel HotRods - Places a rod of fiberglass in the centerline of the nose and tail for higher ollies and nollies. The single barrel increases longitudinal kick without altering the flex profile.
Impact Core Matrix - A composite core impregnated with 40% wood fibers that flexes smoothly, stands up to abuse and leaves light impact on the environment.
Laminates
StraightBiax - The glass configuration that steers the board and is torsionally forgiving to keep a super playful feel.
Base
Impact Base - An advanced extruded compound that fights against the abuse of rails, boxes and rocks.
Glass Impact Plates™ - 2x more compression resistant under the binding to combat the abuse of landing on hard objects.

This is hands down the most fun I have had on a snowboard. It locks in to presses without any effort, kills rails better than Gary Busey on a 3 day bender and butters better than Land-o-lakes. Tons of pop for being such a flexy board and handles big park kickers with no problems. If you live in the park or shred handrails after hours you shouldn't be riding anything else. Period.

The Rome Artifact Rocker is a solid park board but with limited all mountain capabilities. Great for rails and spinning. The board is very quick edge to edge and can get unstable when carving while freeriding. Given the prior year discount, this is a great option for a park board you don't mind banging around.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2012:

I actually own the 10-11 version of this board, but they are very similar with only slight changes. I have been riding for about 14 years but more recently got into jibbing. I picked this up as a 'sacrifice' board for rails and to have something smaller and more flexible than my everyday board (Rome Agent Rocker) for riding with my wife and kids (read: switch). This board is SO much better than just a jib stick. Edge grip is very good for such a soft rockered board. I was able to produce some respectable whiteroom inducing turns on steeper corduroy without washing out. That's despite the fact that I was on a 156 and weigh 195 lbs. Poppy, smooth, fun, absurdly easy to press and butter. Check out Angrysnowboarder's review for another opinion. No, this would not be my first choice for running the LBS, but it's a LOT more versatile than I was expecting.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2012:

This is probably the nicest board I've ever ridden. It rides very smoothly, and feels very natural. It flexes just enough for presses, but it doesn't slip out. It has plenty of pop, even for a park board. I haven't found anything I dislike about this board yet. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to ride in the park.

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2012:

I was so excited to get my hands on this board before the 2011/2012 season ended. I didn't want to spend a whole lot, so I waited near the end of season to get it discounted. Evo even did price matching plus an additional 5%, and the turnaround was next day! Anyway, as for usage, I usually spend my time on groomers, but wanted to venture onto more technical riding on parks and features. I'm new to it this year, but I've been riding for almost 8 years now, and I thought this would make the perfect entry point for me. The flex in comparison to my other board is quite substantial. I've been practicing butters and going over boxes and rails, and I can't wait till next year! Thank you Evo!

Comments about Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard 2012:

I bought the 156, and named it Lexi Anne ;D I took her up over Easter weekend and got to get some nice spring riding in. Im 5' 10" and 135 pounds and I rode pretty much all mountain. She tore the HELL out of everything I rode her down. It was best in the park, Specifically rails and boxes, and good on kickers. since I'm light I can still get some spring out of the tail. She was awesome in powder and staying in control while weaving through those narrow trails in the trees. She did alright speedwise and on steep stuff (I wish I had a camber for that) but it felt awesome, especially for a rockered board. She doesn't catch edges as well, helping to make your landings better off kickers. sometimes, however, I washed out while landing a kicker when i least expected it. but that may be because I have a size 11.5 foot. Overall an awesome board.

My main worry when I bought the board was that it wouldn't be as stable as I hoped since it is my only deck. But I was surprised at the balance between flex, pop, and stability. I lightly detuned the board and still had plenty of medium speed stabilty. Great board for park laps AND groomers. I would recommend this board to anybody regardless of skill level.

Had the 144cm for a 5'2", 115lb son. Perfect fit. He loves it. Good enough for midwest pow..Great for freestyle and park..Jibs, ollies easily with extra pop.Landing on ramp jumps was solid but I would not recommend the 144cm for a heavy weight person..Very good all round board for our Midwest resort conditions.

The board was a gift that I picked out. Ordered before Christmas thought it would arrive Christmas Eve, it didn't show up and I was leaving Friday on a trip to Lake Tahoe. I called EVO on Wednesday the day after Christmas told them what was going on, they looked into it and there were weather problems that had delayed the package. The package was later lost by the carrier, EVO saved my trip by shipping it overnite on Thursday for us!

Really nice and buttery and flexy. Not the most stable at speed, chatters a bit but knew that before buying. Not as much pop as I would like. Tons of fun though and easy to maneuver.
