Never Summer

With Carbon V-Twin Laminate Technology and RDS1 Damping System to increase edgehold and vibration absorption in any snow condition, the 2014 Never Summer Premier F1 Snowboard takes freeride technology to a whole new level. It has a multi-flex pattern giving the Premier a powerful tail flex and a more responsive mid flex for unmatched carving ability, powder floatation, and effortless turn initiation.
Rocker Type
Original Rocker & Camber Profile (RC) - Rocker underfoot for flotation, mobility, and a forgiving feel, plus camber extending from the outside of the mounting area to the transition area for superior edge hold and explosive pop. The transition area at the end of the camber extends to the effective edge keeping the board from pushing against the snow for effortless glide while making it less likely to catch an edge. RC delivers all the benefits of a rocker design with the spring, stability and edgehold of camber.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 7, a stiff flex for hard charging
Shape
Directional Shape - Made for freeriding, this directional shape will make your board slice through anything and increase floatation.
Vario Power Grip Sidecut - Multi-radius sidecut adds increased edgehold precisely where it's needed most, from 2 inches outside of each binding and inward toward the center of the board, providing added control and response in any conditions (Sidecut Radius numbers are an average).
Core
Multi-flex Profiled Flightcore - Modified NS Custom Flightcore
Laminates
Carbon V-Twin Laminate Technology - The Premiere F1 benefits most from the CARBON V-TWIN laminate system which extends the carbon "V"s from the bindings to the ends of the effective edge increasing power and edge response. An additional carbon V is added to the tail to increase edge hold and power out of turns.
STS Pretensioned Fiberglass - The world's best snowboard fiberglass, period. STS ADVANCED FIBERGLASS is pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving this snowboard unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.
Bi-Lite Fiberglass - BI-LITE fiberglass combines many of the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
RDS 1 Damping System - This NS's most extensive damping system specifically designed for the Premier F1. Three full perimeter layers of elastomeric rubber foil are laminated between the metal edge, fiberglass and wood core. This provides unmatched stability and a smooth ride feel especially at high speeds.
Sidewalls
Sintered P-Tex Sidewall - Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS maintain their integrity at any temperature.
P-Tex tip and tail protection
Base
Durasurf Sintered 4501 Base - Crown Plastics has been the industry leader in sintered materials for over 36 years and has created the DURASURF 4501 sintered base exclusively for Never Summer. This new high density base is extremely fast and will provide unmatched performance and durability.
Edges
Fully Wrapped Metal Edge - Provides unmatched carving ability and edge grip
Additional Features
Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers - Elastomeric Rubber Stabilizers directly below the mounting area provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.
Binding Compatibility
Never Summer snowboards offer 2x4 insert patterns.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freeride, Freestyle, Powder
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Shape: Directional
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
