Never Summer Evo Grom Snowboard - Youth 2013

Most people consider boards for children and "progressing" riders to be second rate; that is not the case with the Never Summer Evo Grom Snowboard. Offering the exact same technology the adult Evo snowboard offers the, Evo Grom will make any progressing rider excel. The Carbon VXR Laminate Technology will give your little shredder power along the edges for precise turns while still offering enough flex for practicing butters. Combine that with the Press Flex Core to offer the easiest ollieing ability found in any progression focused board. Give your grom a once in a lifetime board with the Never Summer Evo Grom Snowboard.
Rocker Type
R.C. - The original Rocker & Camber construction blends a custom rocker profile with separate camber areas at each end of the board, providing unmatched power and snap out of turns. This also provides better board tracking for high speed stability and massive ollies.
Bi-Directional Rocker/Camber Profile - This is designed to perform well riding switch while not inhibiting forward performance. This is accomplished by extending the camber slightly in the tip, increasing pressure over this area. To compensate for this additional pressure, the rocker has been shifted slightly toward the tail adding pop and a more forgiving ride.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 4, perfect for progression
Sidecut
Vario Power Grip - Multi-radius sidecut adds increased edgehold precisely where it's needed most, from 2 inches outside of each binding and inward toward the center of the board, providing added control and response in any conditions (Sidecut Radius numbers are an average).
Twin geometry for equal ease riding forward or switch
Core
Press Flex Core - 2 specific softer flex points between the feet creating better hinge points for ultimate pressing and ollie performance.
Laminates
STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass - Pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate with added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers run the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates, giving the board unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.
Bi-Lite Fiberglass - Combining the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix, this delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
Carbon VXR Laminate Technology - Dual carbon V's help transfer more energy to the end of the effective edge at both tip and tail without making the board too stiff for buttering.
EDS Damping System - Delivering increased edgehold and high speed stability without compromising freestyle performance.
Sidewalls
Sintered P-Tex Sidewall - Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, the Sintered P-Tex Sidewall maintains it's integrity at any temperature.
Base
Durasurf Sintered 4501 Base - Crown Plastics has been the industry leader in sintered materials for over 36 years and has created the Durasurf Sintered 4501 Base exclusively for Never Summer. This new high density base is extremely fast and will provide unmatched performance and durability.
Edges
Fully Wrapped Metal Edge - Provides unmatched carving ability and edge grip
Binding Compatibility
Never Summer snowboards offer 2x4 insert patterns.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
