Product Info

You've heard of Travis Rice before, right? In case you haven't, he's kind of a big deal in the snowboarding world. Check out The Art of Flight, King of the Hill and Supernatural. This board is his brain child born on the steeps of his home mountain Jackson Hole, WY. It's designed to allow you to slip in and out of any situation imaginable with his favorite C2 Power Banana camber rocker profile and comes factory detuned to his specs. The Horse Power version means it's lighter, stronger and more environmentally friendly because it's made with all basalt (no traditional fiberglass) and the Columbian Gold Core instead of the traditional H Pop Core with the Bio-Beans top sheet. Excelling in all conditions, this board has a naturally thicker waist and comes in two shapes, the pow specific pointy 161.5 and 164.5 and the park/jib focused blunt 150,15, 155 and157. No matter where you are on the mountain, the Lib Tech T.Rice Pro C2BTX HP Snowboard crushes its competition. That's it, that's all.

Product Details

Rocker Type

C2 BTX: Power Banana / Camber BlendTravis Rice's favorite camber rocker blend for aggressive power snowboarders. Solid tip and tail pressure for power, pop, precision and end-to-end stability combines with a medium amount of pressure between your feet for float, carving and edge hold.

Flex 7A stiff aggressive flex designed to provide stability on big take offs and excellent response for cruising through powder

True TwinA true twin snowboard shape is ideal for riders who want to ride switch or play in the park. The nose and tail are identical and the flex is evenly distributed throughout the entirety of the board. True twins are perfectly symmetrical.

Comments about Lib Tech T.Rice Pro C2BTX HP Snowboard 2014:

I'd label myself as an intermediate/advanced rider that loves powder days and exploring the mountain. I'm not huge on tricks and rarely go in the terrain parks, but I like playing in the trees and 'back country' areas of vail.

Coming from an all-camber burton custom x, this board's handling is dramatically different:

the board needs about 70% LESS input to innate a turn, and it took me a few runs to get used to how quickly it responds to rider input.

I feel way more in control on this board, especially on the steeps and in the trees where I need a board that turns quickly and keeps me in control.

compared to my custom x that just wanted to plow ahead and really got knocked around on the chunk, the t rice pro hp allowed me to navigate steep terrain and CONTROL my lines much easier. I can turn faster and on a much, much smaller radius. the board absorbs bumps a lot better.

    it ollies much easier.

the best part is that this board is an absolute DREAM in powder. It just floats so effortless and really lets you carve it up w/o having to have your weight on your back leg. the custom x just wanted to dive headfirst into the powder, and I'd have to stop several times during a powder run just to catch my breath and stop the burn (and i'm a pretty fit mountain biker at altitude).

I didn't have to stop once on the lib tech t-rice pro hp.

As far as weight goes, I wouldn't say this isn't the lightest board ever. My 2009 custom x wide is actually significantly lighter than this, but out riding, the lib tech feels lighter and more nimble.

i've read reviews that claim the t rice doesn't turn as easily as other rocker/camber hybrid boards.

if that's the case, then I wouldn't want to touch those other boards.

this thing is PLENTY nimble and will turn easily.

while it doesn't snap out of a groomer turn as fast as my all camber burton custom x, it's a joy to bomb runs on this thing.

Comments about Lib Tech T.Rice Pro C2BTX HP Snowboard 2014:

To start, I am a skier. I have snowboarded a fair amount, switching with friends, but this was my first time on a C2 Banana. It rocked for sure. For me it was a good balance of control without feeling like I was going to catch an edge. In fact it felt so good, that I took some of my first park laps on a board, and I don't want to brag, but let's just say some heads were turning. The Horsepower top sheet makes this super lightweight too.
