Product Info

The venerable K2 Slayblade Snowboard has been in K2’s lineup for four years, and it still rocks hard. This board gets an upgrade for 2013 with the addition of Tweekend™ rocker shaping at the tip and tail for more stability when you’re pushing the limits. The K2 Slayblade Snowboard remains the ride of choice for aggressive riders wanting a stiffer board for high speed strength and power.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Flatline™Preloaded, stable, and turn-ready, Flatline creates a supremely balanced, smooth ride for both aspiring and accomplished riders.

NEW Tweekend™Tweaks the tip and tail of K2 boards by extending the rocker curvature all the way out to the ends, giving you more surface area to press, float and land on.

Shape

All Mountain

Construction

Hybrilight™ ConstructionFeatures a thin, constant thickness sidewall designed for maximum performance and minimal material usage. The result is a lighter snowboard with significantly less waste produced in manufacturing.

Triax/ICG 20Top triaxial glass laminate with diagonal layers that stiffens the board torsionally. Giving improved edge hold and increased stability for those off-axis landings. Bottom ICG 20 glass integrates carbon into the fiberglass, reducing overall weight and creating a super smooth release of power while increasing pop and liveliness.

Ollie-Bar™Made with a secret lay up of carbon, Kevlar and glass layers, the ollie bar is positioned in the center of the board between binding inserts. This makes for stronger ollies and pressing power that actually come from the more critical backbone center section of the board.

Sidecut

Twin geometry for equal ease riding forward or switch

Hyper Progressive SidecutA number of different radius' are blended together flawlessly from mellow in the tips, to more aggressive in the center. The result is a super predictable feel that never hooks. Responsive at high speeds and smooth enough to butter your way from peak to peak.

Core

NEW Bambooyah™ BlendA skate-derived horizontal bamboo laminate that adds incredible strength and stands up to brutal beatings.

WH4With a greater percentage of K2's Honeykomb technology that goes into the WH3 core, it's engineered to maintain durability at minimal weight.

Base

Ø SinteredAn ultra thin, lightweight, static eliminating base. Highest quality sintered available anywhere.

Additional Features

Carbon Web™ IIDesigned specifically to enhance K2's Baseline technology and brings the pop and snap of carbon closer to your bindings for max ollies and control in every situation.

1° Base Bevel

Harshmellow™A dampening compound placed around the binding inserts, decreases negative vibes, leg burn and rough landings.

Binding Compatibility

2 x 4 Insert Pattern

Comments about K2 Slayblade Snowboard 2013:

Growing up riding traditional camber boards i switched to flatline about 5 yrs ago. Easy transition. Have a older model slayblade with same tech sz 158 for park and bought this for a trip to bc. Did not disappoint. Worked great in 12 inches of pow on heli day and holds a great edge on hardpack groomers when i get euro . Awesome all around skiboard! Especially for the discounted price

This is a great board for advanced riders and up. Beginners and intermediate might find small adjustments and turns too difficult to initiate. Very fast and stable, great grip.

So far I have only used the board once. Awesome on groomed slopes. I think it will be even better in powder. Really stable and smooth.

Comments about K2 Slayblade Snowboard 2013:

I was looking for big and not too stiff backcountry freestyle snowboard. Once you cab in a powder on a directional board it's realluy hard to control your direction while you just trying not too dig deep into the pow. Hopefully this true-twin will allow to make something new in the backcountry this season.
