K2 Playback Snowboard 2012

A no-nonsense freestyle thrasher, the K2 Playback Snowboard is an all new twin tip for those looking for all the fun with a tiny price tag. Flatline® Baseline makes it a great choice for the progressing rider and Hybritaper™ Construction brings the best of K2 durability and lightweight performance.
Construction and Core
The K2 Playback Snowboard features a W1 wood core that is characterized by a single species of pure wood with proven flex, durability, and snap.
Hybritaper™ tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. K2 blended the tips from a cap into a thin sandwich removing material where you don’t need it.
Shape
The Twin Hyper progressive sidecut mellows out the transitions leaving you with the most predictable, best all-around riding board on the market. It is responsive enough for high-speed power carves but smooth enough to butter your way from the peak to the park.
Base
The 2000 Extruded base is durable, fast, easy to repair, and easy to tune.
Demanded by the K2 International Pro Team, K2 pioneered the Flatline® base profile. Preloaded, stable, and turn-ready, Flatline® is exactly as sounds - a flat base, and creating a supremely balanced, smooth ride for both aspiring and accomplished pros.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.

Comments about K2 Playback Snowboard 2012:

This board is awesome. I had gotten a board for x-mas and it was way to big, went up the mountian once with the board and knew it was wrong. Got this board for my bday in feb. When I got on it it was so much smoother and did not grab anybodies old cuts, like the ones I rented after I knew my board was to big. I picked up the sport very fast and I do beieve this board will be great for me next year. I did my first bunny hop or ollie whatever its called in this sport, just this past weekend, and it was super easy cant wait to start jibbing and hitting the boxes. I cannot complain about the board or the service I got.
